I've got my first GCSE next week. I'm honestly not too worried-I didn't revise for my mocks and I got straight A*s, pretty much, so I think I should do quite well with all the revision I've been doing...

Damn...that sounded less arrogant in my head... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-confused.gif

Anyway, good luck to everyone.

Have fun... don't worry about them - GCSEs and A-levels should be fine...

Now... prelims... must revise... must revise...

Nah. Can't be bothered. I'll survive. I only need to improve my mock mark by 38% to pass.

Mate don't get complacent I was exactly the same yet I failed to get straight A*'s. It makes sense let me say why. Teachers know exactly what is on the mock paper, if they mean to or not they will guide you in lessons towards being able to answer the questions on the papers. Yes it may not be significant enough for a C grade student to get an A*, but it is very significant in terms of a B grade student getting an A and an A grade student getting A*. Mocks are as unuseful as they are useful, REVISE Or you won't get your marks. Also there is nothing like the pressure in mocks as the real thing, they mean nothing at the end of the day and so do not be surprised if you get different results at the end unless you revise, I fell into the trap don't do it yourself

Don't worry, I've had people saying this to me for weeks. I'm definitely going to revise.

I reckon I did... a week's worth of revision for my A-levels... all in one subject as well - pretty much ignored bio and chem, and concentrated on the harder modules of my maths. Of course - it did mean that I nearly missed out on my offer by four marks out of six hundred in my Chemistry, but hey.

Hmm... GCSEs... pretty much no revision... ended up messing two subjects up and getting Bs...
Actually... did revise for maths... but then again, if it counts as revising - we did the entire GCSE course in one term - so it wasn't really revision, just learning it all.

Of course, when I tried the whole no revsion thing up here at Uni... I got... 2%, 19%, 32% and 36%. If I fail the exams those were mocks for... I get thrown out. Piece of cake.
