Isaac Thomas Dunn was born @ 1745 today - 3 weeks early, weighing in at 6 lbs 7oz. Mother & baby are fine, no thanks to dad who mistook his wifes stomach pains and diarhoea for the stomach bug he was suffering from which was giving him stomach pains and diahoea. Turns out those stomach pains were contractions http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif
Piccies will follow when I manage to sort out the software for my digicam (stupid XP).

Well done to you both... glad you went for Isaac as I've named mine Ben who arrived 6 weeks ago.
How long was labour? Did you faint...? My girlfriend's was only four hours but I had to sleep immediately afterwards or fall over
Enjoy the sleepless nights. Good luck getting him settled into a routine... 4 hours between feeds is almost achievable... almost.

Welcome to Fatherhood The Land of Sleepless nights, crying infants, and some of the most interesting smells you have ever come across http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-help.gif
Your not REALLY considered a father until the following things happen:
1. Your baby throws up down the back of your shirt while you are burping him.
2. You are given your first golden shower (See Nappy Topic in Previous Posts) by your baby.
3. You wake up in the middle of the night, desparately wishing mom will get up, but knowing YOU will be the one to feed the baby this time
4. You teach your baby to say Mama first, instead of Da-da. That way when baby wakes up he will scream Mama and SHE will go take care of him Plus your wife will think its cute, that you love her so much, you will teach the baby to say her name first :)
Have fun You will find that the Lord made babies so cute because otherwise, you would kill them

Thanks guys. Mrs Nev & the little man are still in the maternity home - he went 48 hours before he ate anything. He would latch on to her nipple, but he was too lazy to suck, so he would just fall asleep there. About 5 hours ago he was really crying properly for the first time ie he was actually hungry, and we got him latched on and sucking away and he had his first proper feed. Muchos relief for Mr & Mrs Nev.
Changed my first nappy yesterday, v exciting, though I'm sure it soon becomes a dreaded chore. However, I go the full poop spray experience. His poop is still the thick new born, black, tar like substance. I'd just finished wiping it off when he let go a big, juicy fart and sprayed drops of poop in my face, including one in my mouth http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif
He has a thick head of dark hair, and I know everyone says this, but he is so gorgeous. Just cradling him in my hands is a wonderful feeling.
Mrs Suribachi had no pain relief - she was 6 cm dilated by the time we got to the maternity home. She asked for an epijural, but the midwife said I think its a bit late for that love http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-surprised.gif So she ended up having him in the birthing pool with no painkillers. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-speechless.gif Who'd have thought that my wife would have gone for the new age birth? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
When he was born, they put him on Joy's chest, and he was all grey & covered in slime - which though I knew it, it was still a bit of a shock. I couldn't see his face at first as it was buried in his mums chest and he was crying. Then he looked up to take a deep breath for a really good sustained wail and looked right into my face and I just burst into tears and blubbered like a little girl http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif
Hopefully if he carries on feeding properly they'll both be home tomorrow. Then we get to see the cats reaction. Boy is she in for a shock at no longer being no.1 in the house
Elmark I like your idea about teaching him to say mummy first - I'll have to remember that http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif
And my dad went into hospital in Leeds today, his op is tomorrow.
