Are we talking games that are out, or games that are close to release, or games in development?

Max Payne 2. Really good graphics and facial animations.

Though I've never played it like 98% of the gaming populations says Far Cry so...

Ok then... I predict that Half-Life 62 will have the best graphics. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Of the games I've played, I would say Morrowind. Enduring a sandstorm in a Daedra ruins or wading through the water under a silt strider are things not easily forgotten.

Lock On. Incredible graphics. But even if your machine gets 350FPS in Quake III, you'll still only get 10 or 15 in this CPU pig.

Flight Simulator 2002 and 2004. Incredible eye candy flying over L.A. International Airport at 1600x1200 in 32 bit colour.

Il2-Forgotten Battles. Put twenty JU-88s flying over Leningrad at night with searchlights hunting them while flak and night fighters chase them down and you have aWWII movie right on your screen. Again though, this can take a very heavy computer to pull off.

Splinter Cell. It also has some serious eye candy.

What I saw from resident evil 4 was awesome, I actually like it more then the half-life 2's look. Windwaker 2 looks awesome as well. For the pc rome total war...oh yeah

Couldn't have said it better myself. But I might add:

-STALKER (PC)
-Fable (X-BOX)
-Eve Online (currently available space MMORPG)
-Colin McRae 4 (PC)
-Pro Race Driver 2 (PC)
-Il-2 Forgotten Battles(PC)
-Star Wars: Republic Commandos

And a few more...

Half-Life 2
Morrowind
Rome: Total War
Lock On: Modern Air Combat (this game is at least five times as beautiful as IL2:FB)

railroad tycoon iii. lately i've been importing satellite images into the game and they are just incredible. oh, and real world aerial photographs. nothing paints better than mother nature, so when you can import images of mother nature into the game, well... there ya go :)

Mafia - Its a 1920s mobster game. The cars/buildings/peoples all look nice, they have the theme down quite well. Which is saying alot for me, because I usually don't care for graphics. Mafia just does it so well.

you asked for screenshots. here's one from railroad tycoon iii. this one made use of some real world aerial photographs which i imported into the editor and turned into a map in the game.

Definately Monkey Island 3... perhaps not the best from the series, but the prettiest one for sure. And you can fire this one up in ten years and still enjoy it very much (yeah, yeah, I know... just like Pong... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif )

I was also very surprised by the graphics from Railroad Tycoon III Krae, very pretty game indeed

As for flightsims, Lockon definately has the best graphics on the ground... but I think FS2004 wins it in the air... the lighting and clouds are simply amazing

Unreal 3. There is a thread around here somewhere with a trailer. It made me cry with it's beauty.

nightcrawlerblue
06-13-2004, 04:56
Bah. Half-Life 62 will easily beat Unreal 3. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif

but unreal 72 will blow halflefe 52's sox off.

Sjakihata
06-13-2004, 08:59
I guess I'm just stating the obvious

Half Life 1476 will beat Unreal 1475

*Note, NO more unreal products are made because the company went bankrupt as no one would buy unreal because HL was SO much better.

Efrem Da King
06-13-2004, 10:57
AHh but 20 years down the track they will release Unreal Torunament 3691

No no no That's Civilization 657 Civilization 39,076 uses a time machine and an impenetrable suit of armor That way you can go back to whatever age you want, rule, and never be killed.

Mafia for the PC has the best graphics i've ever seen in a game that i've actually played myself

but it's not only great graphics. it has some of the very best gameplay i've ever seen too. along with everything else

Seriously. For awesome graphics, hybrid FPS-style action, somewhat RPG-style character development, physycs engine and multiple possible endings, you should check this one out...

went to that site, aymar. nice graphics. but why do webmasters put black page sliders on black backgrouns? quite odd.

anyways, the absolute best graphics i've seen anywhere, though i dont have the game, has to be in final fantasy xii. hands down, this beats em all.
