Right boys who is it. My all time fav is Roy Chubby Brown with Billy Connolly not far behind.

Eddie izzard always gives me a laugh and good comedy duo's such as Rick Mayall and Adrian Edmondson and Peter Cook and Dudley moore, especially the Derek and clive sketches always has me roaring http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I like lots of comedians, but I think Robin Williams wins hands down. I've never seem anyone think so many funny thoughts so quickly. You can ask him one question on anything and he will go off for 5 minutes (or longer) on a gut-bustingly funny, stream-of-thought comedy romp that only stops when some one finally reigns him in.

He was on the Bravo show Inside the Actor's Studio. In the prelog for the show, the host (forget his name) mentions that the show went for 4 hours but they edited it down to an hour. During the show, a lady had to be taken away to a hospital because she injured herself laughing too hard. That is Robin Williams.

How can there be room for anyone after Tony Hancock?

I like physical humour where excessive bodily language is prominent. Jim Carrey makes me laugh pretty hard.
When it comes to imitation I tend to agree with Gregoshi that Robin Williams is very good and funny.

But these are all American/Canadian?

I'd have to go with Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson.

Robin williams is also pretty funny as is Jim Carrey (although i prefered Carrey's earlier films better).
