The last two weeks I have been gone to England on a Pilgramage tour, spending the first week in Birmingham to do some mission work at the homeless shelter and cathedral, and spending the last week visiting various sites of religious significance, such as Alnwick, Durham, Oxford, etc. I had a lot of fun, but still prefer the states. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif A lot of changes seemed to have occured while I was gone, a lot of new forums (never fori) now.

Spreading the message of The Soy then?

Surely the plural of Forum is Fori... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-surprised.gif

I believe it was the Fireside. I think it is the only open-day shelter in Birmingham.

I didn't. I helped the homeless, which was more fun than I thought it would be, without saying a single prayer Hell, I even did them one better by holding back the incense and choral refrains as I served them tea http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif

Birmingham, (Brum, I assume), was a pretty cool place. It is an industrial city, as I understand, and I was surprised by the cosmopolitan bent of the city. Public transportation was good, as I assume it is in most of England, and the downtown district was easily accesible by foot. Everything tended to be more expensive to me, as the pound is currently beating the crap out of the dollar (about 2 US to 1 pound). I was there for the elections and it was interesting to see the different political situation.

Fixed it.

Now Dijon, that is a place with bloody good public transport.

Manchester isn't too bad either.

London's public transport is pretty good. Busy, but pretty good.

I have to agree with you. We got something like three hours of free time in the city, and I could have gone with only two. Given that I am a guy, and not to predisposed to shopping, I still found Durham's shopping venues similar to the Bullring in Birmingham, but with less scope.
