I put together this pdf file of all the keybaord commands; maybe someone may find it useful.

Here: http://home.ripway.com/2005-4/291811/RTWKeyCom.pdf

As the host of this file is a bit miserly with its bandwidth, there's a chance you may have to wait. If so, feel free to PM/email me, and I'll email you a copy.

Is there any way to make it larger? I'm using firefox at 1024x768 and it seems like its at 640x480. Impossible to read anything.

Update: looks like it has problems in firefox. It's fine in IE.

I used to download the somewhere a file for description_auto_optimise (?) . I re-formatted my hard drive and I thought I already copied/backup the file somewhere on my thumb drive but I accidently erased it. Now I couldn't find it anywhere. If anyone knows what I'm talking about will you point me to the llink of mail me the file.

It's basically a mod file to auto optimise all settings.

Thanks in advance.

1) I've just bought a new computer this week, and I've installed RTW today. But the basic troop numbers for each unit are only half that of the previous, instalements. How can I increase the number of troops in the game.

2) What exactly is RTW 1.5? I'm going to install E.B. 1.0, but I have no idea what or where I can aquire it. Advice please.

Hello, Titus Pullo.

1) From 'frogbeastegg's Guide to Rome: Total War and the Barbarian Invasion', section 3:

Unit size
A lot of people have asked me about this, and a lot of people have asked on the assorted forums I read. It’s actually an option under the graphics main menu, just check the ‘advanced settings’ box to reveal it. Unit size can ONLY be altered at the start of a campaign. It doesn’t matter what you get your options to after starting a campaign; you will be stuck with the unit size you had selected when you started. Larger units have more men (Oh golly!) and this has several …. Impacts. Firstly it makes them that little bit harder to control on the battlefield; they take longer to react to orders, especially when altering facing by 90 degrees. This is a Good Thing in my opinion. Secondly they take more men from settlements when being built; a Bad Thing. You see the starting populations of cities in the campaign are the same for all unit sizes, and so the AI tends to drain cities of people trying to build an army. That means it’s slower and harder to tech up, and so you tend to run into crappy units a lot. This can also happen to you, the super smart human player person thing, if you are not careful. Thirdly, and most obviously, larger units require more oomph from your PC. I use the largest unit size and point blank refuse to drop below the second largest size. Small units are not fun to me.

2) RTW 1.5 stands for RTW patched to version 1.5. Just have a look at this topic:

http://shoguntotalwar.yuku.com/topic/1577/t/Alexander-Expansion-Install-Issues.html

Just follow the instructions and get the patch(es) you need.

Hope this helps. ~;)
