I just saw Shogun Mayeda on video and it was crap. Movies that I havent seen are Shogun, Samurai X Trust (Manga Series), Ran (is that the title?), are there anymore out there worth viewing?

Great film, actually! One of my definite favourites of any genre. Unfortunately, the only place I've found it on DVD was on www.cdjapan.co.jp, (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp,) and it was bloody expensive. When you add the shipping/handling costs and local taxes etc. it's simply too expensive.

I saw it during an international film festival in town, and if it wasn't for that festival, I don't think it would ever have come near Norwegian shores, so sadly it'll probably be a bit difficult for most people outside Japan to find it...

Seriously though, Kurosawa's films are great. Yojimbo is a masterpiece as is Sanjuro.
_Heaven and Earth_ (previously mentioned) is a visually stunning film.
