hi

how many versions of there are this

when i first watched it in the uk'it was 5 2 hourish episodes.

then it got whittled down to a pure pish load of 2 hour crap.

i now have a 3 tape boxset of 3 x 3 tapes with each tape have 2 90 minute episodes.so 6 x 90 mins in total.

but i have just seen on amazon.com etc shogun the complete epic a 4 tape boxed set'which some sites quote as having 12 hours.

i've always believed there must have been plenty chopped out of even the original mini series.so is this complete epic longer than the original mini series??

i've always wanted to see the part in the book where the browns fight the grays 20 at a time as mariko tries to leave osaka castle.
that would be smart if it was included.

seems to be states only?

also is it 12 hours or is that bs???

hach

The original version was about 10 hours. I know cuz I taped it. Then they redid it with an Orson Welles narration so those who never read the book would be able to follow the story. Then they came out with the severely edited version, about two hours.

Can't say anything about the 12-hour version, friend. Do they claim it has included previously cut material?
