I've been adding height to the original RTW map, got everything to work, but if I scroll the screen to the south west corner of the map, here's what I get

http://www.image-dump.com/view.php?m=1&x=22749

The games becomes quite laggy (I can hardly move the cursor) and the screen gets blue.
I have noticed other weird things on the map, but I don't have time to post it right now.

Here's another pic, nothing really different from the first one, but well...

Blah (http://www.image-dump.com/view.php?m=1&x=23067)

I don't know what may be the reason of that, but it only happens in the south west corner, with the toggle_fow cheat on. Without toggle_fow, the game just becames really slow on this part of the map (like, *REALLY* slow).

I think none could help me, but would anyone using RTR (or even the original RTW) be able to check if that crap happens with the game and the mod ? (I can't play original RTW, since my 2nd computer doesn't really work right now). I highly doubt it, but well, I have no idea what to do to solve that ~

It almost looks like it is trying to put the city under water? Atlantis?

I remember seeing some things somewhere in files that set max and min elevations and sea level...I think. Perhaps you've exceeded those ranges, or you have exceeded the maximum range the .exe could handle?

Upload your height map. You said you edited it and then this happened, the problem lies very likely in there, but if you are not showing it is hard to help you.

Since I couldn't find what was going wrong, I made a new map, simply increasing its size (to the north) without adding new features and ground type (only water).

Map_climate (http://www.image-dump.com/view.php?m=1&x=23090)

Map_groundtype (http://www.image-dump.com/view.php?m=1&x=23091)

Map_heights (http://www.image-dump.com/view.php?m=1&x=23092)

I did that for all the maps except water_surface, could it be the problem ?

All the maps should be increased in size. If you forget one, then it is only logical that RTW crashes.

Well, I had a look at the water_surfrace TGA files, and first, it's not a map_"something" file, and second, the pic is 256*256, and I have no idea how to increase it.

Edit : the same thing happens with the RTR 3.2 mod. My computer might be buggy, even if I doubt it.

Hey,

I've gotten that error, too, on both on an unmodded RTW installation and on various mods, RTR included. I just don't scroll right down to the bottom right corner. Besides the slowdown and the graphical glitching, there don't seem to be any adverse effects.

Cheers,

Bacchon

-edit-

The water surface img is 256x256 for any map size.

You're right, I've just reinstalled the game, launched a new game without modding anything, and the south west corner is bugged. Weird, but well.

What graphics card and driver sets are the two of you using? I wonder if this could be a frame clipping issue.

nVidia Geforce4 MX 440 (dual-monitor support, not that I'm using it right now), and the latest drivers. *shrugs* I haven't found it to be that big a deal, I just don't scroll right down to that corner.

GForce 2. I downloaded and installed the latest drivers before re-installing the game.
