In case someone was reading some of the posts I had earlier made here is some information on Japanes measurements.

Distance:
Unit:
1 Sun = 1.2 inches or 3 cm
1 Sho = 4 inches or 10 cm
1 Shaku = 1 foot 30 cm
1 Ken = 2 yards or 2 meters
1 Jo = 10 feet or 3 meters
1 Ri = 2.4 miles or 3.9 km
1 Senri (1,000) ri) = 2,400 miles or 3,900 km

Area:
Unit:
Tsubo = 1 ken x 1 ken
Cho = 60 ken x 60 ken

Capacity
Unit
1 Shaku = 18ml
1 Go = 1/2 pt or 1.8l
1 Sho = 1.5 qts or 1.8l
1 To = 4 gal or 18l
1 Koku = 40 gal or 180l

All of the above data comes from Sengoku Revised Edition, by Anthony J. Bryant and Mark T. Arsenault, page 10, wich has it in a nice little chart.

Not to be too pernickity about it, but a shaku is actually 0.99419 of a foot (cause 1 foot is 1.00584 shaku). http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
