The formal sign up of the clan daimyo, executor, and publisher will start at 0:00 AM GMT July 25 (Wednesday). Before that I will post an annoucement list of free generals to choose from. Please note a few things:

1. These positions are open to everyone, but they are expected to do a little more works than others! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

2. These positions allow one to choose his or her general FIRST. When the executor and publisher candidates specify their general choices, they can mostly make 3. (the clan daimyo will be playing the clan daimyo at year 1530) The executor's choice will be in the first priority.

3. Sign up is first come, first serve. You can still sign up for a position if somebody else has already done so. You will become the backup this way (but unfortunately cannot reserve a general).

This signup is going to last for 24 hours, and the general sign up (for other generals) will start at 0:00 AM GMT July 26 (Thursday).

Please don't hesitate to express your concerns now, because we will be reluctant to change the rules after the campaign starts. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

because of time differences we may need to have a simple voting option for clan meetings; eg. if participants can't get online for the discussion then they can vote their choice(s) within 1 day of the meeting or they just accept the decision made by this democratic group.

Is it possible to have several people typing instant messages to the group at once if we all used ICQ ? How is the other group meeting going to work ? http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Yep clan meeting will become a problem! I am just thinking if we can use a rather "loose form" of meeting. The clan daimyo annouce the topic as a thread first, then everyone post a reply if they have something to say within 24 hours, just for example.

The clan daimyo can annouce a vote being carried out if necessary. Then everybody will cast their vote openly by replying the thread. But it is going to be slower.

Satake: What kind of general would you like? If you don't specify, we might volunteer you to become the best heir of the clan, while also help out as the executor http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/tongue.gif

So what time are signups, could you list them in as many time zones as possible. (sorry for the hassle)

Hi Narf:

GMT is the time used by .org The best way to figure out the conversion is to check your post right after posting it, then compare the time difference of the post time (in GMT) and your current time.

The other way to figure the conversion out is to click on the clock on the menu bar of windows (bottom-right corner). There is a line listing all time zones and their relative relationship with GMT http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

For example:

(GMT -5:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)

This means 0:00 AM GMT July 25 is equal to
7:00 PM July 24 for Eastern N.A.

So the sign up for the daimyo, executor, and publisher will start in 2 hours!
