Just got a thought. Maybe we can set the timeline dynamically instead of
fixing it all at the beginning. The basic idea is to ask the executor
keep playing UNTIL a battle occurs. If there is no battle then we just
jump to the next season.

Another way is to shorten the meeting duration. The clan daimyo can make
a big meeting (lasting 3 days) only every 3 years, while all other meetings
are the smaller meetings that MUST END in 1 day. (just an example) Oh of course,
the clan daimyo can still hold emergency meetings with specified duration. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Reminded by Vanya that this way we can leave more time for members to play their battles (at least a full 24 hours).

Also, we might be able to add some "clan holiday" to give the hard working volunteers a rest. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/tongue.gif

the above is fine with me, ie. the Executor uses some common sense and only refers the campaign back when major decisions are needed or he can't comply with the clan meeting instructions or orders from before. This way we (the whole clan) only have to decide what the Executor thinks are the more important things of the campaign. The Emissary/shinobi/ninja/priest master will need to frequently advise the Executor what he wants (after the clan meetings) to achieve his outcomes. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif

Well I will need all major army movement directives from the meeting.

What about buildings and training of troops?

Everything not covered by the meeting is under the freedom of the executor. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif I believe our clan members will trust your judgement of where to train units and build stuff. (It is especially straight forward for Shimazu I think http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/tongue.gif)

NARF can correct me if I am wrong but yes, you the Executor can decide all the small issues unless there is a specific clan meeting direction (approved course of action) that tells you to build a castle or port somewhere first etc. If you are faced with a big dilemma then ask for advice from the Daimyo or if he is not available then one of the Deputy Clan Daimyos.

I will try to give you clear and concise instructions for generals and their troops, eg. after the clan meetings decide where and what to do it is my job to summarise the action plan. Some issues will be voted on while some will be decided by the Daimyo.

We will need to try and keep the important clan generals seperate on the map but moving them through provinces where there are other important generals is fine, by necessity a combined attack by all troops will occur anyway in the early stages of the campaign.

The Executor has considerable discretionary powers and a hard job, just do what you think is best for all routine tasks.
