If you are a clan member why did you join a clan? And why did you choose that Clan?

If you are still a ronin, then why do you choose not to join a clan?

Am a member of Clan Kenchikuka... We're one of the first clans to have been founded , we were around before the game was released , and have been a member since day 1.

I always find fun in joining a clan when i realy like a game and am willing to spend some time on it. It's a good way to have a basic group of players to hang out with. The fun thing was that i helped build kenchi from scratch one , and my loyalty to kenchi is thus without doubt http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif We still have our original Daimyo (Asaji) , tho the clan is currently run by Darthguru , our heir http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Kenchi are a fun bunch.. Very different personalities (our most noticable member is obviously Kikujiro. Namnam to you kiku! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif ) make it a great bunch and fun to hang out with, therefore i have no need to find another clan. Also , being in a clan provokes certain reactions from other clans , as there is some diplomacy between the clans , stances if u like http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif So if a clan is friendly to the one you join , the members of the other clan will likely be friendly towards you too , whereas u don't know them personaly , but they think "hey it's a kenchi so it's a good guy/ a jerk / a strong player.. fill it in http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Clan play is fun.

Doragon members used to hang out at Lanzas site b4 they formed Doragon. Since we were all familiar with each other, the clan just came together. I think all but 3 of our 14 members met at Lanzas site.

I am one of the true ronin.Wandering the island looking for sex,drugs and geishas that roll. So i'm a few centurys early but whot the heck.
Why join a clan?--Cause ur scared,frightened individuals who need to fight in a band/group to be strong.Strength comes from the mind not the arm that wields the sword.
Honour for the true ronin does not exist,we individuals can act as we see fit!! Get drunk when we want,play hunt the naked geisha,even go naked in public(well apart from our swords of course).

DarthGuru, don't take pottethebee remarks too seriously. One of my clan mates that knows him well, likes him a lot because of his warped sense of humor among other things(and that he can laugh at himself also).

Whats a clan.....some kind of shell fish?....no...thats a clam...oh I know....its those strange fellas who all stand around together making the on-line world a better place to be (generally).

All the tourneys and 80% of the websites are clan based.. what is a good clan?....well the one you serve well and the one that also serves you well.

Ronin...can be fun but....playing 2v2 etc is often hard to find a partner you can trust.......... and may I say this...if you are a Ronin and have never been in a clan...how can you say being a ronin is better?

In a clan you can often learn how to play better...gain better conduct...feeling of duty and pride......all clans beleive they are the best....which in some ways is good.

Rage is knocking on a bit.....never reformed...or went away and come back....still the same old fellas (with the odd new face).think we are around one of the oldest clans...kenchi(not sure how many are original... bunch old buggers/fearful chopped and changed but still just old buggers anyway/then us old buggers with an old buggers attitude!...we are not angels...but I feel we have added something within our time.....we call ourselves family.

Soon we will open the doors to new players who wish to train..learn....understand what its like to be in a clan and understand the work involved.....but more on this another time...or if anybody wished to hear more...go to our web site or forum..its linked in the org.and go to join bit/area.

But all this about how great clans are I must mention ronin before i finish..they have great value.......who else would farm the rice..or stand up so we can test our blades out.

I'm the only one left from the very first Kenchis. The only player apart from me still active who was there from the start also is MagyarKhan , but he has gone his own (succesful) way.
Second/third rectuiting wave veterans.. Daimon and DarthGuru , Otomo Meiji.. Otomo and Daimon seem to have disappeared , but Darth is still around , and is heir to the clan. From this era comes also Terazawa , who also went his own succesful way http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
After a near-death experience with the clan , we are now well alive again , special thanks to the support of Leo http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif We are now stronger than we originaly were , more active and closer than before.

Nah seriously, I've had a great time since I joined Kenchi... multi-player games are ten times better. IMO the best thing is getting to know your clan-mates behaviour on the battlefield. I've found that I know what a couple of the guys are gonna do before they even they do. This makes for great games as teamwork become a natural course rather than an objective.

The Yagyu Clan is relatively young in stw terms. However I have been around for around a year or so. I committed Seppuku after being in a reputable clan for some time. Perhaps that is for another thread.
The Yagyu Clan is one that is hoping to be a force in the stw world. Based upon a small clan in Japan that somehow made it out fine!
They taught 3 generations of Tokugawa Shogun how to weild a sword.
I myself am a swordsman. I have studied in Japan, even in the famed Yagyu dojo.
The idea came to me that it would be great to have a clan that truly understood Bushido. The way of the Bushi. So I decided to start a clan. Now out of 7, at least 3 of us are dedicated to the martial arts. We have been helping clanm8s understand the principles of the samurai while still managing to have a great time together!
I feel that being in a clan brings us closer to each other, helps us to find like minded people all across this planet! It is also great to have trusted m8s that you can play with!
