Tournament info

Please accept my humble greetings and
regards ,great ones!
Let me introduce myself,I am Kalki,a lone
warrior coming from a great and distant land
to gain honour,wisdom and true greatness!
When I had defeated all in my kingdom and my greatness was unchallenged I was told by my teacher ,the great Chanakya(also known as Kautilya ,older and greater than Machaveli and Sun Tzu in the art of war and politics),that to be great in the true
sense I had to leave my single player
kingdom and go out into the world where I may
find worthy opponents and once I had established my
greatness over them only then would I be truly great !

Well...
Friends,I am new to MP games and have many doubts and I am sure
I shall be guided well by all the good people here.
I would like to know about the online tournaments that are held.
What are the conditions to join ?
Do you need to be part of some established clan ?
How often are the tournaments held?
Are they free ?
Also what are the abrevations used by
the clan members and others in chat and
game rooms.
And please could you tell me if there is any
way we can use custom family names other than the default Japanese ones listed in the
game and during player and clan registration.
Please do not mind my asking so many questions.

As far as i know there are no current plans for tournaments , as people are waiting for the x-pack , i think we can see x-pack tournaments soon. One thing you might want to check out is the ongoing Multiplayer Campaign . http://campaign.club.tip.nl

You are not required to join any clans for the tournaments. You can be a lone wandering ronin if that is what you please , join an existing clan or create your own and recruit other ronin for your clan. It is a matter of preference. Major tournaments are being held from time to time , but there are no set times for those. When a clan feels like it , they host a tourney. Personaly , i would like to see many more of those , as it is great fun to play in tournaments. No charges are being made for anything in the community. The only costs you get is when buying STW.
Abbreavations... Most clans are easily recognized by their tags. Tenki , Rage , Celti , Lrossa and Kenchi to name a few.
There is no way to randomise your online last name. Personaly , I like this. It's fun to see many japanese names in the game. However , some names are silly but at least they still have a japanese last name http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
