Wraith obrital dropship over designated BashinVI/0480 hours

"altitude 15000 feet and dropping" called the pilot over the intercom "two minutes". david stood by the steel door, his combat helmet clutched at his head tightly, to tightly david decided he pushed his gloved fingers up under the rim and pressed a button. a small gas relase loosened the helmets grip. "One minute" called the pilot, with veteran fingers david did a quick com check and took inventory of his equipment. he took a small pump off the wall and loaded the feed into the manacle, a small light progressivly brightened at the base. a droplet of sweat dripped off of davids nose and into the open mechinization of his pistol, the pistol was of course unharmed so david closed up the chamber and slid it into its hip holster.

"30 seconds" the pilot yelled urgently, and he pushed a lever to his left. with a mettalic hiss the guards drew off the steel door. david swallowed and looked around the interior of the dropship/assault ship. it was a dull swamp green interior that the soldiers refered to as "marine blood green" a hearty jibe to the enthusiasum of the marines. he strapped the final weapon to his belt, a mettalic geometric handle which was extremely heavy.

"HIT IT" yelled david in a rough bark. quick to oblige the pilot slammed his palm to the large red button, its origional labal had been covered up and labeled 'The Flush'. as the button was slammed the very door itself ejected out like a cork. and david was blown out into the atmosphere, for a few moments he spun haphazardly into the hydrogen filled darkness. but as soon as he retained a small semblence of levelness he pushed his feet together and went into a sttep needle dive.

uh my parents are forcing me off the comp AGAIN...i'll try to finish this as soon as i can.

Very vivid and immediate description, well done. Btw, I think his pistol should be 'unarmed' rather than 'unharmed' ~;).

Apart from that, it seems very similair to a piece called 'Hostile Destination' that I wrote and posted on a few writing forums about a month ago. I'll post it here so you can see what I mean.

Great minds think alike! ~D

**CAUTION** The following piece contains some swearing.
------------------------------------------------------------------

Julius gripped the indifferent steel of his assault rifle with resentment. Yet another drop, he thought. They would keep on dropping him until he died, or until his sentence ended. He considered gloomily which was likely to come first. Yet again he found himself on board an armoured personnel carrier intruding itself upon some worlds sovereignty. A black, angular shape stealing into night skies with questionable intent, and once more he was powerless to prevent it.

His eyelids descended heavily as he tried to comfort himself with thoughts of home. A brief smile shaped his lips as he remembered Naya, her subtle form dreaming on the stained mattress in their squat. Her sleeping smile and gentle movements under the old sheet, their lovemaking amongst the squallor.

His mouth twisted as his involuntary recall of the medivac team trespassed into his mind: the medics fighting to keep her heart alive against the overdose, Naya airlifted away in a stretcher. He cleared his mind with a grimace and sought for sleep.

The APC had a unique smell, of grease, oil and guns, that wouldn't let him forget where he was: On a reconnaissance mission to some, no doubt, bleak place full of aggressive inhabitants. Only the gentle vibration of the craft seemed to tug him gently towards sleep - yet could'nt quite get him there. He could imagine the APC's black nose ripping through this worlds' lower atmosphere, seeking out its hostile destination.

'What I wouldn't give for a hit right now' he thought, almost automatically, and surprised himself with this old lament. It was almost a part of him now, like it was written into his genes. A longing for the submerging seduction of Karna. He started to relive the feeling of its silver bliss soaring through his bloodstream, then shredded the thought from his mind.

'I always feel like this on drops' he growled to himself.

There was no point in even reminising, he was light years from the nearest hit. The Judistrate had seen to that, months ago, when he had torn him from his chemical escapism to the harsh bosom and agressive rehab of the Punitive Corps, with one crack of his mallet. Anyway, he thought bitterly, he did'nt want his old life back as sure as he did'nt want his current one. His soul yearned for something else.

A heavy boot thumped into his chest plate.

'Dreaming of a fix, junkie?' A voice barked.

Julius sighed once more, a large figure stood before him. The trooper looked up into the glaring eyes of his squad-master, Warrant Officer Ivanic.

'You shit heads are all the same. Well, its time to get that crap out of your mind, or the only high you'll be getting is when the locals blow your ass skywards' he continued, then cackled.

Julius grimaced at the harsh sound of his laughter, it was like scraping metal.

'Not if I blast yours first, dickhead, that would be all the fix I'd need' he rasped back.

The squad masters' grating laughter grew louder as he walked away.

Julius turned to his right at the sound of somebody waking noisily. Rann sat there in his flight harness. He stirred and mumbled sleepily 'He's an asshole, Jules, don't let him wind you up.' Rann peered out through one half closed eye, a livid scar marked where some trauma had carried the other away.

'He's got judgment coming to him, don't worry about that' Rann continued 'now forget about him.' He yawned extravagantly and looked around as if he had just realised where he was.

'What shit-hole are we getting dumped on this time anyway?' he breathed.

'Jesus Rann, don't you listen in the briefings? No wait, don't tell me, you were asleep.' Julius grinned 'Its the same as usual, we've got to recon a city area to test the water for enemy presence, before command will commit regular troops to occupy.'

Rann laughed bitterly 'then they examine the bullet-ridden bodies of the punitive corps to see how hostile the natives are. Like you said, same as usual.'

Julius considered him for a moment, he really didn't like their current posting, to a carrier in orbit around a planet once called New Europe.

'Whats this planet called now' he asked.

'Who knows, some name they dreamt up after declaring independence from Earth and the holy autocracy of our God-forsaken church.' He said these last few words in a bitter whisper, 'Probably 'Freedom' or 'Liberty' or some such crap.'

Independance, thought Julius, he could sympathise with this world. Too bad they had collapsed into civil war as the two most powerful nations on the planet struggled for the reigns of power released by Earth, plunging the planet into two decades of devastation.

Earth now considered New Europe weakened enough to forcibly bring back into the fold and into the sanctity of its church.

Julius chewed on the idea of this world being compelled, like himself, to Earths will.

Ivanic's voice barked again, '3 K's from drop.'

He grimaced, this wasn't the time for such thoughts, he dismissed them from his mind and looked around to distract his usual pessimism.

Rann and Julius sat in steel flight harnesses against one wall of the APC, along with four other troopers. Another six sat opposite. They all wore matt black full body armour, that when helmeted, made them look like demonic insects, Julius thought.

The men opposite gazed through vacant eyes at the deck plating or the walls. Their slack faces void of any expression.

'I guess we all look a little like that,' Julius thought.

'Get your heads on troopers, one k from drop,' the squad master drawled.

'Dang, Was having such a great dream too, ah well, time to clock on lads,' sighed Rann as he and the other troopers lowered their helmets into place.

Julius gripped his harness, despite his many drops, the descent from the APC to the surface always made him sweat. A green light flashed its lurid colour across the room. He took a deep breath, muttered a curse and prised his grip from the harness to fold his arms across his breast plate. Then the floor beneath him suddenly retracted and air blasted like a malevolent tornado into the craft. Beneath his feet, only the vauge shapes of an unlit nightscape rushed past.

He swallowed hard and thumbed his release toggle, and plummeted from the craft.

He seemed to be suspended in a black void, the night was too profound to make out any features below him, but the fact that he was falling was made obvious when the descent rockets on his backpack ignited, making him jerk in his suit from the sudden decelaration.

He steadied his reeling head, flicked on his night vision with a thought, and scrutinised the swiflty approaching scene below.

It was much as the mission brief had described: a sprawling urban cityscape, unlit tenaments and high rises, the latter looming like black monoliths around him. There were no lights or movements to be seen.

He did'nt expect to see much activity, reports said this area had been effectively sanitised by chemical weapons during the civil war.

Then the harsh tarmac, blood red through his night vision, rushed up to meet him. He crashed into its unyielding surface and bounced, his armour absorbing the impact, then instantly came to his feet. Vivid blue splotches on his helmet HUD marked the heat signatures of the descent rockets of his comrades, they landed in a group around him. Julius did'nt take much notice, he had taken cover behind the rusted corpse of a car, his assault rifle pointed over its hood, and was scanning the street they had landed in.

Monotonous grey buildings ran down both sides as far as he could see, their original identities and purposes now torn away by decades of conflict. Shattered shop fronts displayed only darkness, and the fronts of some buildings had collapsed, spewing rubble onto the street.

His audio pickups detected no sound, just the stirrings of a mild wind.

The voice of the squad NCO, Sergeant Bastick, hissed over his suit comm to the squad, 'stop pissing about and spread out, spread OUT.'

Julius continued his visual sweep over the violated street, pausing for a moment to consider a childs toy rocket jutting from the rubble.

Then his breathing quickened, and he zoomed his suit vision onto a squat building far down the street. The lightless holes where its windows had been seemed to stare straight at him, but in them, he swore he could detect the faint blue glimmer of small heat signatures. they suddenly brightened.

'Shit' Julius rasped, then shouted 'The locals are home, lads and about to throw us a surprise party, take COVER,'

One of the heat signatures flared in his vision like a nova. Julius threw himself backwards to the ground as a hot object like a small star roared over him and slammed into a building behind.
The missile blasted the side of the building into the street where the squad were scampering for cover, flattening them to the floor.

His audio hadn't dampened ths explosion enough, through the ringing in his ears he could just hear Bastick screaming 'get off the street, get off the street.'

Julius hauled himself up and started to move as the night erupted into weapons fire behind him.

Lower atmosphere over BashinVI/0502 hours

David lowered the visor on his helm so to protect his eyes, he looked down and immediatly saw his mistake. he was to land in the green and blue forest below, but his speed and angle was taking him straight twards the large city itself. its grey brick walls of some unknown mud were permeated by sickly green light. David had no idea of what kind of things inhabited this planet, but they were obviously technolgicly advanced and enviromentally sound. he was the first person to enter this planet. the satalites and reconnisance materials usually used by the military could not be used because of the constant high cloud cover. they people of this planet would never see the stars but the clouds made up a good part of the atmosphere, without them the planet would gradually freeze to death. but with the high density cloud cover almost no green house gasses escaped.

...crap gotta go. DO NOT COMMENT only admire i'll continue soon.

with practiced fingers david typed a combination into the manacle, once done red letters scrolled across the visor screen telling of the current altitude. to fast david decided and pulled himself into aspread position so to slow his decent. it was at that moment in the spinning darkness a red blip appeared n davids visor "F***" david spat. this indicated a cross current that would propell him twards the city.

as a last resort all green beret reconisance units, or as they call themselves Hellraiders, carried a one inch steel capsule. written on the side besid two arrows it read "point away from body mass." Now david pulled one from his belt and pointed it in the direction of the city, stiffening his arms he pressed his thumb into the back and the front of the capsule exploded with enough force to turn a tank (david knows he's tried). the release of gas forced him back almost 100 yards well over the forest but now he was spinning.

he checked the altitude, the numbers were now blinking red, he needed to get into position now. he remembered his training and stood perfectly rigid. weights in his boots pulled him back into a needle dive feet down. a urgent beeping set off in his helmet. david reached down to where his knees used to be but where currently were two powerful cybernetic knees. he crossed his powerful arms over his armored chest and hooked his hands on the powerful steel shoulders that increased his lifting strengh two fold. he checked the altitude one last time, 200 meters. now it was far to late for parachutes, but this brand of soldier had no need for a parachute, David braced for impact.

humming a battle hyme david held himself rigid. his eyes narrowed and he crashed through the tree top, the momentum carried him directly through the canopy. now he came to the crishendo in the battle hyme and his feet struck the dirt.

his mechanized legs folded and hundreds of pounds per square inch dug into the dirt. he screamed and fell to his knees. the force of the impact was almost unbearable, his knees took almost all of the force. his bone had been encased with with high density quenched steel were safe and almost unbreakable. his vital organs were surrounded by biotechnic foam which protected them from harm during a stategic drop. still with these pecautions his entire body jarred from the strike his ears rung and his teeth involuntarily chattered. huis eyes rolled up into his head and david blacked out.

time 0634 hours

he awoke with a headache and got up onto his knees, he coughed. he reached up to his face but it met resistance hitting the helet visor. david reached up and pulled the helmet off tossed it to the ground, he slumped down into a sitting position. his nose itched, he reached up and felt dried blood under his nose. David realised he had been out at least half an hour to bleed that much and have it dry. but true to form he suddenly sat up straight, and looked around. he was surrounded by the broken branches but otherwise in the open. the trees on this planet were thin at the trunk, at about 30 feet up they began to spread out in a single circular plate. the leaves strewn about david were a splotchy blue and green. but as a soldier david forced himself to stand and wobbled the a clump of thick brush. there he slid down surrounded by the dry grass, he looked around him again there was barely anything to be seen. and there in the seclusion he checked on his pack and supplies.

it took him an hour to check the contents of his pack. the first item he pulled was the pistol, it had not sustained damage though one of the armor peircing shells had shattered. the M-30 tri shelling semi-automatic pistol could fire 3 kinds of bullets. the first and most prevelent was a semi explosive hallowed tip ballistic shell, the second was the enlongated armor piercing solid tip round. and the last was the low range scattering explosive burst shell. each had there own load and barrel. it was an all purpose weapon, for the first two rounds it was effective to up to 300 yards. he also had a terrain tracker that could chart elevations at up to five miles in all directions. super powerful microphones that could pin-point a single sound for 300 yards. two miniscule cameras that could record several days worth of material. and variose other survival and reconisance items. the last two items he checked was the manacle and the silver hilt. the manacle he proped up on a rock and using a tiny magnetation retriever, was able to open the back panel and wiuth skilled fingers was able to check the wires and curved powerpack. with the hilt he was even more delicate, tentativly touching wires and several powerpacks.

he had just placed the silver hilt in a holder upon his belt when he heard a small crackle. in a lightning movement he stood and unleashed the pistol aiming it twards the sound. the barrel came to rest pointing directly it the small creatures head.

it stood at about 4 feet tall. david had personally viewed several kinds of sentient life over the galaxy. and he knew personally that though most humans think of animals based around the central spinal frame it was not always the case. it was only by chance that the spine had became prevelent on earth.

in simpler terms imagine five animals walking on a plain around the primordial soup. one has a spinal columb, another is a tentacled boneless thing, another has a exoskeleton shell, another has a circular bone system with radiating limbs, and the last has had its brain in the center of mass with two limbs. the last being is walking and catches its limb inder a rock, the brittle bone breaks and it soon dies from existance. the spinal one gets to the body first and gorges upon its flesh. two more reach the body and get only enough to survive. the on with the radiating limbs is far to slow and starves. once again the spinal gets to eat the most, the other two get even less food this time. they are getting weak, so both become smaller. as the spinal one reproduces so much it becomes dominant as fish then lizards, dinosaurs, young mammals, mammoths, and finally humans. the tanacles branch to become octopuses, moluscs and little else. the exoskeleton finds that being weak but many works and becomes thousands of insects.

if this is what happened on earth, on another planet the spinal one dies and the circular one proceeds to battle, with the tentacled one for dominance. they both reach there elite form and engage in war over the planet for centuries. then humanity arrives in there great warships and conquers the violent creatures.

but this creature staring down the barrel of the gun had evloved around a thick curved bone plateabout a foot wide and three feet tall. it layed under the skin of its back like a turtles shell. at the top of the plate its enlongated skull was shaped like a bullet and pointed out to its front. its organs were basiclly in the same place as the humans, its stomech bulged out over its tri-jointed legs. its arms reached down to its flat feet. the tops of its arms were thin and bony, the bottom half of its arm grew out in a cone at the wide base of the cone three stubby pointed fingers sprouted. it the tip of its skull it had two very wide black eyes over a thin mouth. its hunched shoulders barely stood an inch from its body.

well i kinda like this section, please comment.

Its already impossibly large black eyes grew even larger as it gazed at David, there was no sign of a pupil but David suspected if there had been it would be dilating. it began to let out a low stuttering growl. David was not sure whether to receive this as a threat, these simple signs also did not cross planetary boundaries. a growl on earth is a threat, on this planet it showed fear. David of course did not know that, he took a slow step forward. the things head turned towards the foot, David noticed the movement and devised that the aliens eyes were set in its head and could not move independent of the skull. its head also seemed to be on a ball axis, meaning it could barely move its head 90 degrees at any angle.

David’s foot landed, a twig snapped under the heavy combat boot. the creature made a loud clack not unlike that of rock on rock turned its back on David and ran. David was quick to record the things gate, it ran by using its back legs to gain momentum, then fell upon its large hands which vaulted the body into the air when it landed on its feet. then the process would begin all over again.

David mentally cursed himself as he quickly stowed his gear and stalked along the trail. his eyes soon became accustomed to the pattern of the things tracks. searching for the indentations of the fists, when they bore the creature weight. he still had no knowledge of whether the thing was intelligent or a mere beast, but he followed the tracks dutifully.

after about a mile of easy tracking the land became far more rocky making the trail much harder to follow. also the creature seems to have slowed, the tracks are more carefully made, also less pressure was placed indicating less speed, leisure, maybe even confidence, most likely fatigue. even so the thing ran for more than a mile nonstop, indicating high levels of endurance and fitness. this worried David. it would be easy for one of those things to flank around onto his six.

David drew out his terrain tracker a small device it was almost all screen. david thumbed a small silver button and a 3D projection of the surrounding areas lept from the screen surface. at the center of the hologram that floated a inch above the device was a small blip that represented david. around him were thousands of small bumps and dimples that represented rocks and stones on the relatively flat surface of the area. from the direction david came was simple hills and no real items of interest, as was the direction david planed on going to. but to davids direct left was the real item of interest. about 30 squat rectangles melded with the terrain, they were arranged in a jumbled circle. beyond them were a series of tall spires, and beyond them were very large geometric shapes.

these were obviosly buildings. the closest small rectangle was about 12 by 12 and 6 feet tall. the tracker gave no indicaton of what resided in the home. but small shapes moved about these homes which made the tracker lag a little, david touched another button on the tracker. it switched to 3 second pics. every 3 seconds the tracker would check the items, david magnified the image. every 3 seconds it would show where the creatures had moved within the last moments. david lay on his stomech looking at the image, calculating, until another movement rushed into the center of the circle of the buildings. it was small but the others gathered around it.

David gasped, picked up the tracker and using it as a guide began to jog to the village. he had just realised that the thing he had been tracking was that new movement. in the center of the village it was telling he others of his presence. david would have to find a suitable reconisence point to review the village.

David knew that he must study the indigionous peoples. know who is to be friend and who foe. david had one month to study these peoples, find traitors to aid him and ready intellignce for the inevitable assault and capure of this planet.

whoa my compy is startin to weird out, uh please comment.

in the year 2018 a great president rose to power, of what country he made sure would not be remembered. he had one of the most powerful armies in the world but his country was wracked with turmoil, but this man had a plan which he had brooded over for years. he dispised those he thought unfit, he let a campaign through the diplomats of his country. rooting out corruption and humiliating them, destroying them publicly and destroying there finances. also his ideals on crime and punishment were harsh. taking notes from his beloved romans he belived in murder with death. his idea of rape was to make those who were convicted of it utterly untouchable, if they commited such a henius crime a red X was permenatly tatooed in the middle of there forehead. from there they were ripped from society, never to be trusted again, many commited suicide ...there just deserts.

in 2 years the man had made his country a hundred times better, but true to th roman way he cast his eye far accros the sea. with grim efficiency he drove into the torn nations of Africa. in a lightning strike he invaded two terror filled countries, both on the brink of civil and international war. with spearhead assaults and he destroyed there goverment that broght genocide unto its own people. it took not 3 months to gain the loyalty of the people who lived in this country. for you see he also brought about a new breed of soldiers, they were loyal to there country, and devoted to its glory. they were rewarded for there service with money and land. every soldier could work as a fighting unit, but also knew the basics to building. these soldiers harvested the trees for timber, and built houses for every family, with only pyment being the promise they get a job. roads, good roads were built through the dense jungles, connecting town and promoting trade. In the year 2021 he proclaimed the african area his nations province. he took a visit and saw the change in these countries, proper towns, food for every mouth, and very little violence. but still he saw the rampant illness that had always tore through the country. most people had little to no sanitation, filth in there rivers and newfound streets. he spoke with his people and had to do many things. thousands of workers were sent from the nation to these countries, and hundreds of sewers were built. in order to save money instead of many personal baths but instead erected bathhouses similar to those of rome. soon his influence led to the invasion of all africa. he broke the back of each goverment erected his own puppet goverment before finally proclaimng it a part of the nation.

many of the powerful nations of the world object to the expansion, but only one could truly rival the nations power. to that country the man doled out large sums of land and offers of unbroken alliance. he also allowed diplomats of those objecting countries unrestrained roaming privileges throughout Africa. the went back to there governments with only praise for the people who made this continent so efficient. thus there was no opposition from thus governments when the man led the forces in a sudden assault that devoured the middle-east. here he made many of the same alterations as in Africa but was far more ruthless in dealing with opposition. learning from former mistakes he discovered traitors within the target nations. they infiltrated received lists of terrorists and training grounds, and soon the nation invades. they cut down the government and every fanatic or terrorist known. once again those civilians see the greatness and power here, they make there allegiance with the nation.

with the splendor of glory he leads the nation to new heights. it was at this time, that the man proposes the idea of auxileries. his officials embrace the idea and those people of africa and the middle-east who had no jobs, no family, no hopes, are given the choice to join the army. thousands do and the army swells. but now the man sees that in order to truly expand he must combat another powerful nation. and his eyes turn to asia.

'yes sir," said the young intelligence colonel o'brian "so...do you wish to hear the status reports?" he asked. he was one of the 5 people in the wonderfully furnished room, the senator sat behind a large dark oak desk. upon the 8 foot high walls were mounted tapestries of victory, the wine red velvet carpet stretched from wall to wall. before the desk were four comfortable oak chairs, cushioned of course. standing behind those chairs were the high colonels of each military division, Army/marines, naval, reconicence and expansion intelligence, and special ops/spartans, none were seated and would not sit until ordered to.

"have a seat gentlemen," offered senator McDougle three of the four obliged but the naval colonel only frowned slightly "and lady." the naval colonel mary dias smiled and sat.

"very well, lets begin the meeting before i start rambling again" he said and picked up a report from the desk. "first off, how goes the situation on designated bashinVI?"

the army official started first, he handed the senator a peice of paper "that is the updated version of the respondant sir" the senator scanned it "we current have four military transports in loose orbit around BashinVI, total six thousand as the beggining invasion. most veterans from the ceasure of bostonV."he paused to allow the senator to digest this "from our position we have very little knolwedge of the inhabitants of the planet, and very little else." the senator only grumbled.

the naval officer clear her throat loudly, the senetors eyes looked up from the paper under his bushy eyebrows. "yes?" he asked annoyed.

the naval comander was undetered, she was tall with dark drown hair tied back into a pony-tail, her grey eyes could stare down most lesser officers. "sir, naval cruisers under my order have launched several drones into the atmosphere, high hydrogen content, breathable for humans but hundreds of simulations supervised by our AIs shows that the human body will need extra oxygen via resporator every 20 to 24 hours. seismec scans show an unstable plate movement to the east of their equator, it also has a gravitational difference of two kilogram, gravitational pull 8.0m/s squared." she finished that and sat waiting for a reaction.

Senator McDougal finally put down the paper and looked at the woman "very therough Dias, i commend you and your crew but we already knew much of that" Dias's eyebrows raised in surprise "it was only this planet my dear..." "Don't" said Dias threateningly. McDougal smiled and said "of course Admiral Dias, well anyway our special ops knew of the planets existence before you only because its prime position by the atomic sluece-stream. the seismic scans are a nice touch, though we knew the rest, that was new." McDougal swiveled his chair to look at the special ops colonel. "if you could be so kind as to brief us colonel james."

the tall man had broad shoulders and had a red gotee under a shaved scalp, his suit was very dark and newely pressed. "yes, sir." he said and began " yesterday at 0500 hours our special ops recon jumper descended through the atmosphere. for secrecy purposes we have cut almost all contact by radio. the only two transmitions we can recieve are his biosigns, and in just over three weeks, his evac signal. we have one wraith in close orbit monitering his signs. but we really can't recieve anything until he is picked up in a few weeks." James concluded.

"thank you james" said McDougal "at that time we will meet here again for discussion of the action to take, with your jumper in proximity. who is he?"

"A veteran jumper sir, spartan class by age 9, his name is David, code Spring-heel jack, registration 648-094-23649. he is heavily armed and able to care for himself for up to a year by training in a hostile enviroment." finished james.

"very good" McDougal said. "any other developments we should speak about?" he asked the group. he noticed james look slightly at o'neil and Dias they nodded slightly, a slight tip of the head brought there eyes to Nathanial, the army officer who had been elected by the group in the hall only minutes ago.

Nathanial sighed and said slowly checking his words "we feel it is necessary to bring up the object of new bangeladesh" McDougal put his face in his hands for a moment then looked up and asked, exasperated "what has happened now?"

Nathan swallowed and said "no new problems have arised currently but we and many other officers have recorded and researched much of the turmoil there and through unnanimus desicion we have...we uh...have decided to annihilate them with your per-permission sir" he waited nervously, a bead of sweat rolled down his cheek.

McDouglas looked angry "you expect me to destroy this planet? no senator ever wants to have such a deed upon his name" his voice was rising dangerously high.

"but sir" Nathaniel started in an attempt to quell the senators wrath "no good has come of this planet, its warmongering people are completely incompatible with human and other sentient civilizations, we have lost hundreds to riots and uprisings, they favor killing murder and genocide." he said. before he could continue the senator interjected "but can't we simply abandon the planet rather that genocide?"

"not an option" the intelligence commander started "when we made first contact they were already beggining basic space travel. if left to there own devices they may advance into space and attack us further, two dropships are already MIA on the surface, they could be harvested for technology"

"alright, grease the planet, use a pulse bomb, clear the surface but don't destroy the planet itself." he buried his head in his hands "put it in the next monthly report to the entire senate, remove your names from it, put it on my head, they may strip your metals but not mine. send me a full report on the subject in three days."

"SIR YES SIR" they chanted and marched out. when the door shut McDouglass lay his head on the table, he sighed, leaving a breath of vapor on the table. he said quietly to himself "i'll never live this down" he stood up and walked out a seperate passage into his quarters. there he slumped onto his bed and tried to fall asleep.
