i was recently in the metropolitan museum of art and saw on display in the arms and armour section several hungarian shields. you probably know of this already, but just in case, these shields are heavily curved, with a flat bottom and the back side rising up to a point. when the arm is extended, the curving point on the top of the shield wraps around and protects the neck. this was developed in response to the falchions and sabres of ottoman cavalry and should definitely be included for historical accuracy.
