tell me why you and many others want to remove the Senate!! The Senate was the symbol of freedom in Ancient Rome, a freedom which was destroyed by the Emperors. The real ruin of Ancient Rome was actually the fall of the Republic with the Senate as ruler and the creation of the Empirel!! ~D

I don't think it's an ideological disagreement with the Republican system, rather it's solely a game thing because the way the Senate works can make it quite annoying to mod around.

Hey come on now, don't read too much modern thoughts into the past. Yes, the Senate was a symbol of freedom and the ancient liberties of old, but simply put it was incapable of ruling the lands it conquered. Basically you have nearly 100 years of nearly constant civil unrest before Octavian and Agrippa put an end to it. Also look to the governing of the provinces under the republic, it was far more cruel and brutal than under the empire.
