Shogun Total War Community Mods Map Pack - All Maps and Battles 1.2
March 24, 2001

Packed by The Daimyo http://www.planettotalwar.com

This Map Packs contain all of the available Maps at this time. Also within are the "Readme.txt's" of the Map creators. Please make sure to read them prior to playing.

# Maps = 62
# Historical Battles = 8

These maps are playable in Custom Battles and Online (Multiplayer). Some may have limitations due to their designs, or may not work right with too many or too few players or units. Read the "readme" texts included for details on these maps and their uses. With it you will be able to play some ( 8 ) of the included maps how they were intended; via Historical Battles in the Options Menu.

Installation:

Unzip to the Default Directory of C:\ or direct it to the Drive that contains your installation of Total War. The Default UnZipping Path will be: C:\
These are the Folder Paths:
C:\Program Files\Total War\Shogun - Total War\Battle
C:\Program Files\Total War\Shogun - Total War\Battle\Maps
C:\Program Files\Total War\Shogun - Total War\ReadMe Mods
C:\Program Files\Total War\Shogun - Total War\loc\eng
C:\Program Files\Total War\Shogun - Total War\Battle\batinit\Historical Battles

If your installation directory is different than the default, just change it to the proper drive or folder containing the game. If it's not in a Program Files folder, just "Copy" the Total War folder's contents into yours after you UnZip it to your drive.

thannks Daimyo,

for doing this and making the maps available to all much more easily!

one note, however...the takiyama site has been changed. it is now:
www.takiyama.cjb.com (http://www.takiyama.cjb.com)

or
www.home.domaindlx.com/takiyama (http://www.home.domaindlx.com/takiyama)

also, i'm not sure the 1.2 pack has any of my maps in it but i have uploaded 5 new maps to the takiyama site and the org custom maps site, which was done shortly after the release of 1.2

oh, and one last thing about maps...i think i mentioned this in another post but a while back i found that we could use reinforcements on maps. i found this 'feature' while experimenting with maps. i passed this along to tosainu some time back and he and axial are both perfecting the technique. we've been currently testing some new maps that use this feature and they are really quite a different experience :) and unlike my original map where i found this, theirs work :) well, mostly so, anyways...you gotta love an editor that is so goofy it's actually a test of intelligence to use...lol.

so hopefully, when we figure out exactly how all the reinforcement things work we'll be seeing some new maps with that feature on it.

Heya Kraellin, Thanks for letting us all in on that. I am eager to try out those new maps and to se your handywork. I am hoping to release another mappack when we've gathered at least another 20 maps or so. I'm going to make sure to get everyone's in that are available and I will make sure to let everyone know at least a week or 2 before the deadline.
The next one I willl try and have put at the official site as well as all of the popular "file server" sites. I amassed way too much bandwidth usage on the last pack, with no less than 3,000 people downloading the new packs in the course of 2 weeks. I'm not exactly sure how many, but judging from the increase in site traffic, I'd say thats close to the number.
Let me know if there's anything else we need to do to accomodate you and the other map makers with the upcoming installments.
I will make sure to update the links at my site and at the couple of posts I have made around the community.
Good luck on the new developments!
