One hojo still cheats, samurai still clip throguh ground when they die, fighting over desireable regions turns to computer cheating espically for our friend hojo! Castles still take alot of deaths, lords still go on sucide attacks, some enemy heirs still mysteriously disappear. i cant wai for the next patch lets hope this one works.

Hiya, Seppu!

The patch was supposed to have deal with some of these, but not everything is up to everyone's desires.

Hojo Horde:
The patch did help tone this down a bit, but it's kind of inevitable - Hojo gets the best lands, the cheapest castles, and can usually dig in until he's ready to take over. Often, people play as Hojo to specifically counter this, but that still sucks! Unfortunately, this kind of things is a design problem, not a code one, so it's not really something you can fix in a patch, despite what marketer's want to promise.

Video clipping is a problem, but most people can overlook it. This comes from dealing with 2D sprites in a 3D environment. A drawing of a man falling won't always match the way the terrain goes, so his body can't really lie on the same slant as a hillside. In the heat of battle, most generals won't notice that a dead soldier's legs disappear into the ground - he's too busy watching the living soldiers.

Cheating Computers was put in to help balance against human players, and is only really obvious at higher difficulty levels. There should be a better way than having them cheat, and hopefully 1.13 will have smarter AI, but there's still no match for a creative human. This is discussed in more detail in one of the other threads.

Castles take a lot of deaths - well, they're supposed to! Most people find it easier to starve out a castle rather than attack one. They're like bridge battles that way.

Sucidal Daimyo's is another problem. Sometimes, they are attacking to rally their men. It's a morale bonus to have your general charge in, and will help reassure troops. Unfortunately, the computer uses this as one of the last resorts, which means he will often charge in as his troops are fleeing! However, if they got rid of this effect, then it is likely that the enemy generals would NEVER enter combat, and what fun would that be? They did some balancing with this by making the general's unit really tough, so that he can escape from those situations. Naturally, people complained that it is too tough to kill the daimyo once you've surrounded him. *sigh* And round and round the argument goes.....

Disappearing Heirs is a bizarre problem, as it sometimes happens to the player, too! Hopefully 1.13 will nail this one!

the answer to the Hojo's is simple...shinobi's. in the campaign game i make more shinobi's than anything else. the Hojo's are no problem then if you use the shinobi's to full advantage. i rarely even finish the tech tree and buildings when i play a shinobi game.
