Is that where the plaza is? (So you have to capture the fort of win)

no, it's just a static object. It someone finds a way to make units enter a building (like towers) then I will make it so, but I doubt that is possible.
And yes, the "plaza" is on top of the motte hill, so you have have to get rid of all enemies near the fort to win.

I looked at the SSs again and worked that out. But thanks for confirming it. ~:cheers:

What will the castles be like?
Troops on the top of them?
Fighting in the courtyard?

Wow, this is fantastic. Are fortresses with stone walls possible now, using the same basic principle?

stone castles are already in progress (actualy i started on them before this Motte fortress). I might make it so that the "plaza" is inside a large stone keep (with a large gate/hole on one side). Time will tell.

Oddly enough....it's not the central castle that impresses me most in those screenshots.

I really like the cropfields and houses around the outside that set the feel of the period nicely, then the castle itself just sitting there like a natural part of the scene.

I have seen professional games companies produce far less balanced screenshots.

Of course, I like the castle too ~D

no, altho I guess it's possible since trees are animated too (with a skeleton). Might try that at some point, but I got a lot more important stuff to work on first :)

ChivTW is the most promising mod out IMO

btw :: i figured out how to enable the Gothic knights and another Horseback KNight unit *tutonic knights?*

i found a dozen other files for units that are locked but obviously most of them are not finished yet

are you guys going to give the Gothic Knights 'maces' like they had back in MTW??

the Gothic guys were by far my favorite units and i love the gothic knights unit you guys created in game it totally rocks !!

if anyone needs help unlocking their 2 Horseback Knight units I will show you how IF its ok with the makers of the mod

Wow. That is really, really awesome. I can say without a doubt you guys got the most advanced mod of RTW out there.

Is it possible to make the plaza into an entire, enclosed fortress/keep? Like, leave the gates open so defenders could run inside and then fights would break out at the gates. In the screenshots it looked like the final battle was only at around the wooden fortress and not in it.

It could be a small fortress in the middle (static object) with small walls surrounding the plaza.

Of course, that would make conquering the 'plaza' much, much harder. But I'd like that better than setting up your soldiers to surround the plaza then just butcher everyone inside from all sides.

there are ways to do this, but they wont work as nice as walls do (with opening gates etc). I'm gonna try a couple of ideas for the higher levels of keeps tho

Well, having a closeable gates in the center of the city is not a good thing since you can't bring a battering ram inside. It'd require every faction to possess a battering ram unit (like elephants) but I doubt the AI could figure out they need at least one to siege a town.

A good compromise is to have the gates always open. So at least the defenders got a choke point to defend. Of course, it could also end up with the attackers holding the spot and just rained arrows at the defenders who got stuck inside.

I'm not sure which mod your refering too, but I can assure you that our horse barding, gothic plate and italian plate is all our own work.
Not that I am against the sharing of material between mods... when done in the proper manner.

note that the current beta (0.27) is only made for custom, historical and multiplayer battles. It does not include a working campaign or siege battles.

Mottes will be included in next "early era campaign" beta.

I've been a silent viewr on these forums for months now. And well Chivalry Total War brougt me out of my hole so I could post simply how WONDERFUL i Looks. However i often fidn my self sittign at the computer like so: :furious3:
Beacuse it annpys me that Mods can't be odne instantly. But im so glad to see the hard work and dedication you guys have.

Whe this comes out it is guaranteed the First mod I will be grabbing
