Hi kiddies

I've recently been playing around with STW and have figured out a way to change th colors of the men. So far it's been strictly the animated pixels (so not the tiles or campaign-pieces have been altered) but I can now have black-robed monks and azure-armored No-Dachi. My plan is to try to put together a custom battle download with Takeda's red-armored vaguard in play. Hopefully I can do something with the map-editor to give strange sky effects, too. See the screenshot.

BTW, don't ask where the Battlefield Ninja came from; I've been down this road before with EA and a certain "build" of the expansion game

solypsist,

very nice. just dont let elmo get ahold of this or he'll want chartruese monks.

was this an .lbm edit or a .bif?

i believe you can also edit the textures, but they'd only show on your computer.

this is prolly going to be moved to the mods forum, soly, but nice work!

Am I the only person here who finds that the equation "Solypsist-sama" + "screenshots" is highly likely to yield the result of "pooh"?

Actually, Anssi-san, this one's probably valid! I've gotten this effect before, but I was trying to change more than just the color, so I got frustrated. It's most noticable changing the color of ND and WM, because their sprites have are dominated by a single color - ND are usually mostly red. Mostly. You can change the color of other units, but many of them, like archers, have enough detail that a single color change is not as noticable.

I know this is impossible:

But say have a different colour ND for each unit of it. This would be historical accuracy.

At Sekigahara Ieyasu's vanguard wore all red. This was because they were under a certain sub-commander but also because they came from a certain part of Ieyasu's lands.

Therefore a unit that was recruited in Mutsu would come out a different colour as a unit that was recruited in Dewa. Same type of unit but different colour because of differnt province.

This could show differnt families in the clan uniting. Each family inside the clan had a differnt banner, and colour scheme. Then there was the overall banner of the clan. This would be revolutionary. Yet still I know impossible.
