A mod based on the LOTR trilogy movies. The goal of this mod is to simulate the huge epic battles seen in the movies. Currently this project only focuses on Custom and Multiplayer battles.

FAQ:

Q: When will this mod be released?
A: The end of Ocotber/early November will see a first beta release. This beta will be missing some elite units (since they need further designing) but most of the final roster is there. The first beta's purpose is for balance testing.

Q: Will this mod include a single player campaign?
A: Not at the moment. I'm focusing on making a large selection of units first. I'm also not too happy with the limited culture RTW has so a campaign version will be considered after RTW:BI.

Q: How many faction will be playable?
A: 8 "real" factions and 2 "bonus" factions

Q: Will there be LOTR music in it?
A: Yes.

Q: Will there be custom sounds such that orcs would sound like orcs and not just burly men?
A: Yes. They're done. Regular orcs and Uruk-hai got separate and distinct sounds.

Q: Will be custom sounds for units?
A: Not at first beta release so the file size won't be too large. It is planned for the final version.

Q: WILL THERE BE HOBBITS????
A: YES.

Q: What's the full unit roster?

I should have read more carefull. But anyway, as far as I know you can't make mod based on the movies.
Everybody remember what happent to the LOTR mod for Morrowind?

Seriously though, that's some sweet work you've got there. Only unit I didn't like the look of was the troll unit. Any plans to update the battlefield textures to be more fitting?

but there's one thing it said somewhere( it'll not be an exact quote but anyway): for a crossbow unit that it would have a shorter range then a bow but it woiuld be more devestating... I always tought that crossbows shoot further then bows?
who's right since I could be wrong but I really tought so?

THe mod looks great- now I get to play 3 LOTR mods on RTW. These should have their own Org category- call it the "Ring Cycle" or something. (God I hope someone gets that Wagner reference)

Anyway, I have a few suggestions from my limited knowlege of the series:
1. I think there should be some kind of mountian troll and cave troll, but I am hesitant to say that because they were probably not very widely used on the battlefield, seeing as they turned into stone once sunlight touched them... still, you could kinda slip your way around that one.

2. The trolls, especially the Oolg-hai should be less armoured, fewer in number, and f**king huge- not mumak-size, but close to a large rhino or elephant.

3. Don't forget, Mordor had Uruks as well; even though this is a movie mod, they could use some of these elite shock troops.

Take them or leave them.

Konsuli> doesn't matter to me. If EA went as far as giving me a cease and desist letter, all it will do is make the mod unavailable for public download. I made this mod originally by myself, for myself. They can't stop me from continuing working on it.

Gertgregoor> in real life, yea, crossbows shoot farther than regular bows. But most of the archers in the game use longbows. The Uruk-hai's crossbows shoot farther than the crude bows of orcs, but definitely not as far the elves' or Gondor's. Plus it's for balancing purpose since the crossbows got armor piercing attribute and higher attack rating. Galadhrim got the best archers though, as they're both armor and body piercing.


Gaius Drakan> Dol Amroth units is still under consideration. The problem is that I have to heavily design them. Even though many of the units are my own design, I still based them off existing look and culture in the movie. Dol Amroth got their own culture even though they're related to the Gondorians. Thus I'll have to do a little more research and designing for them. So they're not as high in my to-do list as I'm trying to make all the units that appeared in the movies first.

meatwad> There will be three kinds of Trolls available for Mordor: Assault Trolls (like the ones pouring in after Minas Tirith's gates broke) and Battle Trolls (like the one Aragorn fought). A cheaper and weaker Worker Troll will be available as well. I might have Cave Trolls too, as mercenary unit. Yes, even if technically they can't withstand sunlight but the point of this mod is too see LOTR characters in action :)

The Trolls ARE huge. 75% bigger than regular soldier to be precise. I guess I'll need to update the screenshot to show their size compared to other units. I'm still working on the model because of RTW's limited skeleton capability.

I don't specify Mordor's Uruks but their bigger units like Manslayers and Warband got the same sounds with Isengard's Uruks. It's just that in the movie the term Uruk-hai are only applied to Isengard's soldiers.

It´s a great thing you annouced your mod here in this forum, I´ve stumbled over it at SSC (I think) and it looks good - graphic-wise, so far.

I hope the PTB are slow reacting, so we might actually have a chance to download it before the chop off your head.

I wouldn't be too worried about copyright, I think MEMOD (the Morrowind Middle-Earth mod) attracted so much unwanted legal attention because it stepped on the toes of the up-and-coming Middle Earth MMORPG. RTW mods wouldn't really compete with any future releases so should be just fine. Not that I know all that much about it!

Open Beta for balancing test will most likely be ready around October, the time I actually get broadband access. The mod will be quite huge due to music and sound files, even if it only has 10 factions. Hopefully I'll have the full unit roster by then. I might add another faction or two (Dwarves and Outlaws) for later releases.

FYI, the first release will be custom battles and multiplayer only.

Man why not do this based on the Silmarillon? It has more factions, more wars, more events, and much more fun. The story related with the Lord of the Rings is a story of decadence so things scarce badly. I've all the information you need (i think you too but...), and i'm willing to help with scripting (not with modeling because i don't have 3d studio), producing and with all the new ideas that the game needs. I think that if you change your mind you will have to do a little more work, but much of the units needed are ready (specially for the side of the "bad people") from what i've seen. So if you like the idea then i will like to help you. Anyway great effort (and result so far), i would do this myself but i need someone with experience in modeling and a program to model. Tell if you like it and i give you my email.

Uh, the whole point of this mod is to simulate the movies. So why would I want to make it into Silmarillion? The other 2 LOTR mods are being done because they love the books. I'm doing this because I love the movies and would very much like to see the huge epic battles like in the movies, in the game.

Besides, there's already a War of Beleriand mod out there somewhere.

Although your are right, to the movie's credit she did cut the oliphant's achilles tendons. Id like to see how well you could stand with your achilles tendons sliced.


Amazing screens though. Very amazing.


You should try to change the onagers to fire 6 or so heads instead of their normal ammunition. For the orcs of course. Also try to mod their battering ram to look like Rom. Although i doubt if you could make it that big.

My achilles tendons aren't protected by several inches of thick animal hide though, nor are my tendons like tree trunks.

I don't know, perhaps they wash their skin with Nivea moisturiser or something before battle, thus making their skin soft and vulnerable to common or garden swords. Or maybe they're just regular elephants blown up and full of air.

Load of nonsense really.

Just as well the limits of the RTW engine won't allow for lone warriors to jump on them and start performing ridiculous acrobatics and heroic beast slaying antics. That would be too much!

The mumakil are pretty strong but I could beat 6 units of them (12 mumakil in large setting) with 10 units of Rohirrim. Of course my Rohirrim took quite a beating. The most dangerous is their tusk attack, which could wipe out en entire unit if you just stand there. Otherwise if you use javelins and arrows, they'll fall down or run amok.

The problem with the mumakil is the game's buggy engine. For some reason they can't kill infantry that well. Infantry would keep getting knocked down but not get killed. Wtf, CA.


Eowyn cut the tendons because she got Merry steering the horse for her. But if you actually take into account the size of the mumakil and the width of space between the legs, there's no way Eowyn could reach both sides unless she's Plastic Man.
I was actually half expecting Legolas to throw a rope at the mumak's belly, climb up, slit the belly open and throw a grenade inside.

Somewhat different. Right now the Wargriders' wargs are using a horse's skeleton since a wardog's has no mount point so you can't have soldiers riding them. So I had to adjust the mesh a bit to fit the horse skeleton. I'm planning to customize the horsewarg's animation so it would move more like a canine than a horse.

Dude, the trolls are killing there own side according to the movie. The men are supposed to be "wicked men" as gollum said.

Oh, well that's one of the coolest mod's either way! It seems all the mods I want are for MTW (which I don't have). This is for RTW though! Yay! I will get this one for sure...

(And that's a compliment considering the only other mod I have is RTR)

Hahaha yea they laid a smackdown on some Southorns. I had to test the trolls on different groups for balance. For some odd reason, they fared really really poorly on horde formation groups such as the Dunlendings (all of the Dunlendings in my mod are in horde formation). Possibly the formation allows them to surround the trolls easier and their distance from one another made the troll's area attacks not as powerful. The trolls can rip apart 2 full units of Gondorians but got taken out by one full unit of Dunlendings. And the Dunlendings got less defense than the Gondorians.

The Guards with the white helmet flankings for Gondor are awesome, I always thought that the biggest difficulty for a LOTR mod is Minas Tirith (doable) but after that making that unit look acceptable. Its a work of art.

I want this mod (and some others) but they don't come out for a couple months. I don't want the mod yet though because I need to wait a little while to get a better graphics card and some new memory. It's annoying!

It varies, but excluding siege engines, it ranged from 9-12 per faction. The two bonus factions got 3 and 5. I'll expand the bonus factions' roster if I have time.

It depends on how moddable BI is. Right now my main gripe is the culture slots, where you only get 6 cultures and one of them had to share general portraits with another (carthage have to share it with eastern). This is hardcoded in RTW. If they don't change that in BI, as well as some other things, I doubt I'd do a campaign map since shared general portraits would ruin the atmosphere.

How many cultures are you planning to do, anyways? There aren´t all that many, now are there? Gondor, Rohan, the Elves, Orcs, perhaps the "evil" humans like easterners and Haradrim, but that´s about it, or is it?

Right now I'm only using 5, as I'm saving Egypt for the Dwarves. Thankfully I can use the same General pics for Easterlings and Haradrim since according to the movie they're the same race if not really similar. But Rohan would end up sharing their general pics as well, and I don't like that. Not to mention Dunlendings are getting orcs for general portraits.

So I need unique culture slots for Gondor/Free Peoples, Rohan, Easterling/Haradrim, Orcs/Uruks, Dunlendings, Dwarves.

It is, Jerome of CA has stated it somewhere that Rome "thinks" in two dimensions.

Wes actually has already made Nazgul (as in black cloaked fellows) and posted pictures of them at the SSC board. Mounted on horses they would make nice generals for Mordor...

A good reference is MERP. Its the original middle earth role playing game and about 20 years old, it sets out stats for the factions and all races, I could supply you with this information if you need it. I could scan the rulebook and send you a copy via e-mail. Contact me via the forum e-mail.

That was good RPG book from Iron Crown, what was good, was if the Middle Earth RPG wasn't available then there was Arms Law, and Spell Law if one needs to improvise. But MERPS had some really good stuff.

I'd rather not use those because they're following the books so it might confuse some things considering the movies change some stuff from the book.

Direct stats cannot be implemented since the RTW stats are not that solid. Attributes and other stuff play more significant roles than the actual numbers.

Considering that the mod is entirely illegal anyway, wouldn't it be good to extrapolate some designs for units appearing only in the book from those of the film? Essentially using the film design style to make a mod based on the book. Just a thought.

Uh, there's quite a few of non-movie units already. Dunedain Rangers are loosely based on Aragorn's ranger outfit. Gondor Sentry/Militia is non-movie. There's Lossarnach Axemen. Many Elvish units are non-movie. A lot of Rohan is mish-mash of movie and stuff I made up. So's the Haradrim. And Wainriders. There's just not enough units in the movie to make a full game. I'd say less than half of the unit roster has direct movie counterparts.

If I wanted to make a mod that DOESN'T have units from the movies, I'd just join the 2 LOTR mods exclusively. Like I said in the original post, I made this mod because I'd like to see huge battles like those I seen in the movies, something I've been dying to see ever since I saw the trailers for BFME, but as we know, that game is nothing like huge epic battles. I don't care if this mod is illegal. I made this mod not to get attention or recognition. I made it for myself. If someone threw a hissy fit and demanded the mod not be distributed, it personally has no impact on me or the progress of this mod. I'll still continue working on it regardless whether it could be distributed or not.

Let me take it that you have created the Oliphants from the Olis in RTW, right?

Well they have a problem that they never touch the ground so they can't kill infantry easily, they just bounce them around.
You should use the normal elephants as a template.

But I must say it looks great, but aren't those Trolls rather small? I mean if you are going by the movies they should be almost double that height.

The trolls in the screens were just first test so they were 1.75 in scale. I made them 1.90 now and they seem better.

Also missed Helgi's questions:
Yes, Isengard got Berserkers, there is a screenshot of them in the SCC thread.
They also got siege engines. Some factions get them, while others don't. Haradrim, Dunlendings and Rohan don't get them so siegeing cities might be tough for them although Rohan's cavalry is powerful in the open field and Haradrim got mumakil. Isengard has a siege bow, where I edited a ballista so now it looks like a giant crossbow. Isengard and Mordor have their own catapults, which are dirtier and generally more wicked looking.

I'm still testing out if Gondor could have a trebuchet that cannot move except during the pre-battle set up. It would have a great range but immobile, so it'd be better for siege defense. Probably won't make beta release though.

But in some ways it is quite balancing since otherwise they'd just stomp and kill everything in the game. So right now they have to rely on the archers to kill infantry and tusk attacks to wipe out cavalry. They kill cavalry by the truckloads with their tusk attack.

But on the good news, I'm now using african elephant skeleton instead of indian. They got longer legs so the mumakil resembles the ones in the movie much closer.

I think that doesn´t have anything to do with model size, just with stats. They probably have huge anti-horse mount effects, but they don´t apply to infantry, obviously. So in order to make them more lethal to all kinds of units (if that is what you want to do) would be to increase attack and charge values and perhaps lower the mount effects, lest you keep the overall effect, just on a higher damage level.

Moria and Dol Guldor are just outposts for Mordor, granted Moria is a very big outpost; but is an outpost overall and the orc's and goblins are beholden to Sauron as the Uruk-Hai of Saruman are beholden to Saruman. Mordor and Isengard as separate factions would make sense unless one viewed Saruman ultimately as a puppet of Sauron's?:bow:

Doesn't that mean that both cavalry and infantry can halt them in their tracks? I think you should test them with mass going further and further upwards until at some poit it fits both lethality and strength.

The shields of the Numenoreans in the game is already big enough. I used movie screencaps as reference and the size relative to their body seems right so far (goes about from neck to knee). You have to remember than the Numenoreans in the game are larger than regular soldiers (110%) so the shield may look small to them but huge to others.

wlesmana - Sorry to nit-pick but the wargs should really have the saddle on their shoulders, you're exactly right that the back would break, but having a huge weight on the hind-legs would seriously slow down any animal, especially when the front legs are so much bulkier than the back ones. Sorry about that, because on the whole the mod looks excellent! I can't wait!

I personally thought that would be the logical choice when riding big dogs, provided you're small enough to sit on their shoulders with their front legs as support. However, the design sketches from the movies showed they made the riders sit on the, um, forgot the name, femur bone??, basically using their hind legs as support. I think they only did that for coolness factor *shrug* So I'm afraid I have to stay with that.

Okay. I've got REALLY bad news...

I messed up something when I was trying to put the mod somewhere on my computer. I put it on D drive. I tried to delete everything when I found it wouldn't work, but it didn't work out. Now I can't play RTW at all.

al'Callaendor> yea, should be ok, although you basically what you need is just desc_building_battle from vanilla. That's the only difference between 1.0 and 1.0b. I will release 1.0c later once I compiled enough bug fixes. The reason I updated to 1.0b is because with the bug in the file, it WILL crash in siege battle with stone walls. Other bugs are not game stopping so I'll leave them until I find more.

Check the official forum for the latest unit stats file.

One question, Wles, if you´re willing to share your business secret: Just how did you manage to turn off the auto-firing city towers? That, apart from the truly magnificent unit graphics of course, is one of the major features of your mod. Playing a vanilla campaign again for a change, I´m completely frustrated with my army being shot to bits by wall towers of a city defended only by a group of peasants ~:rolleyes: .

Go to desc_walls and change all the reload ticks to -1. Works for BI too. The only downside is that they'd still fire once but that's it.

But still no way to turn off attacks from gatehouses though :/

Yea, you can play as Ringwraiths (on foot) although not reccomended on Large and Huge settings since they get their numbers doubled/quadrupled. Sauron is disabled in Custom Battle for this same reason.

PATCH 1.1b NOTES

1) CHANGES / ADDITIONS:
GAMEPLAY:
- Gondor is now more specialized, with high defense/low attack on some units while high attack/low defense on a few elites
- Price adjustment on some units to make them more desirable in comparison with their stat
- Boiling oil has been removed from the game. Defending your city is now harder as you have to rely solely on your men

UNITS:
- Uruk-hai Scouts now wield 2 handed axes instead of swords, aside their bows
- Added a new Citadel Guards for Gondor, wielding a long spear, high attack low defense unit with command attribute
- The old Citadel Guards are now Gondor Squires, lowered its stats and price but kept its command attribute
- Gondor Rangers and Rangers of the North now wield longer bows
- Orcs of Mordor and Second Age Mordor and Isengard are now smaller in size except Warband, Bloodspikes and Manslayer
- Lothlorien Sentinels now wield the elven battlesword as their secondary weapon, as seen in the movies. Their melee attack is also increased but their number reduced since they're now an archer/melee hybrid like Galadhrim
- Tweaked Sauron's skin slightly to make his helmet look more accurate

ANIMATIONS:
- Sauron's charging animation has been changed into a new one. This results in a more devastating Sauron than ever!

2) FIXES:
- Mumakil will no longer float in the air upon death, but the old glitch of slight misplacement of the carcass is still there. This will be fixed when an upgrade of CAS tool is provided
- Sauron will no longer spew out an orc captain upon death in Historical Battle
- Fixed a typo with Orc Raiders of Isengard which resulted in CTD when used
- Fixed a typo of Isengard Catapult having a super high defense
- Fixed a typo resulting in missing unit info card for Elven Light Spearmen

1) CHANGES / ADDITIONS:
GAMEPLAY:
- A sweeping change in armor piercing of all factions. Now only high tier archers get armor piercing while low tier get more ammo
- Reduced the number of units with armor piercing. Only a few elite units get it
- Fire arrows has been taken away from some units as they are out of character
- Removed all missiles from towers and gatehouses, while boiling oil is still present
- Siege rams are flammable again but without gatehouses to shoot fire arrows, you will have to rely on your own archers to burn them
- Increased the arch of arrows, enabling some archers to fire and not hit their allies in front of them
- Added Historical Battle: Battle of the Last Alliance. Numenoreans and Elven Alliance are playable. Be aware that the number of units in this battle is quite large and may lag older PCs

UNITS:
- Added Grey Company, mounted Rangers of the North to Gondor
- Added Gondor Levy Bowmen, low tier archers to Gondor
- Added ROhan Peasant Bowmen, low tier archers to Rohan
- Added Warg Riders to Mordor
- Added Wargs to Mordor
- Added Umbar Pirates, armed with throwing spears to Southrons
- Added Umbar Raiders, high morale infantry to Southrons
- Added Goldenscales, elite general guards to Easterlings
- Added Variag Riders, cavalry to Easterlings
- Added Variag Warriors, high morale infantry to Easterlings
- Added Elven Spearmen, low tier spearmen to Elves
- Added Guardians of the Crown, general bodyguards to Numenoreans
- Added Uruk-hai Scouts, light armored infantry with bow to Isengard
- Added mercenaries: spearmen, swordsmen, axemen and horsemen to human factions
- Assault Trolls and Battle Trolls are now 'elephants' and will throw enemies in the air, as well as able to knock down gates and wooden walls
- Added some hero models (Elendil, Isildur, Gil-galad, Sauron) to be used in Historical Battles. Elrond, Eomer, Gothmog and Boromir are in-game as faction officers

GRAPHICS:
- Added sprites to all units, which in theory should increase performance
- Added gloss files to Gondor units. You can turn this on and off in Video Options
- Revamped Gondor and Elven banners, as well as Gondor icon (it is now a white tree on black field)
- Simple modding to make Roman cities when occupied by Gondor or NUmenoreans to have white marble roofs
- New routing banners to make routing units have tattered, broken banners
- Added unit info cards for Mordor catapult, Isengard catapult and siege bow
- Added SKYMOD 1.2 by Archer for more dramatic lighting effects
- Added new models for horses with tweaked skins, based on Pinarius' real horses mod
- Removed firey arrow smoke trail to increase performance
- Added a better intro movie based on in-game movies by Echolyn
- Revamped some unit cards to indicate the command effect
- Added proper weapon models mimicking the movies for Eomer and Boromir

SOUNDS:
- Added footsteps for trolls
- Added special weapon sound for Sauron
- Added special voice for Sauron
- Added Haradrim chanting for mumakil, courtesy of NorthHammer
- Added 2 extra battle soundtrack

ANIMATIONS:
- Flipping animation glitch has been resolved thanks to Vercingetorix and and latest exporter tool
- New animation for trolls, their attacks sweep the ground making
- Added Elven Bladeweaver attack animation, mimicking the movie, as well as new charging and charge attack animations
- New one handed sword animation that are more fluid
- Gave all spearman and swordsman skeletons proper general order anims
- New walking and attack animations for Sauron
- Tweaked animations for archers, now they will reach for their arrows either on their back or on their hip
- Tweaked animations for the indecent "butt slapping" taunt, now the more civilized factions won't showcase their bums to the enemy
- Added proper parry and dodge animations to two-handed spearman

2) FIXES:
- Fixed missing unit info card for Rohan Archers
- Fixed Gondor Citadel Guard scabbard placement
- Fixed Gondor Rangers of the North texture glitch
- Fixed Easterling Warriors medium model glitch
- Fixed all Numenoreans texture glitch
- Elven Swiftbows have traded their butter knives for a short sword
- Fixed a missing animation in original RTW's spearman animation, where the animation for 'run to charge' is missing and is using that of javelinman, resulting in an inappropriate trasitional animation sequence. The new one is custom made and should now make the transition sequence appear seamless

3) KNOWN ISSUES:
- Some formation glitch is still evident due to the exporter. This will be fixed in the future hopefully
- Sauron cannot run. This is intentional to make him attack more effectively

- A sweeping change of armor piercing. All archers no longer get armor piercing. To compensate, all arrows have been increased in attack power to simulate the same effect as before, except now there is a difference in effectiveness against armored, shielded or unarmored targets, as it should
- Only a select few "elites" receive armor piercing attacks. Each faction has one or more of these units

UNITS:
- Variag units are now mercenaries and can be used by Easterlings, Southrons and Mordor
- Grey Company now acts more like horse archers. There is no change in attack stats
- Wainriders no longer run amok, making them more deadly
- Wainriders and Wainarchers receive slight boost in attack and defense
- New unit: Variag Horse Archers, for Easterlings, Southrons and Mordor
- New unit: Chosen Warriors, general bodyguard unit for Dunlendings
- Mumakil and trolls are now better at survival against a hail of arrows. Some archer units are still effective at killing these fearsome beasts, such as the Rangers of Ithilien

2) FIXES:
- Fixed an issue with Sauron and trolls losing their weapons at some occasions
- Fixed an issue with trolls loincloth and alpha channel
- Fixed Goldenscales' medium, low and lowest LOD texture error
- Fixed Ithilien Rangers, Rangers of the North and Grey Company's model problem with their hoods

I have got a quick problem
when I install the mod then when it
starts then it shows then first logo but
then it bleeps & goes back to desktop
it's kinda strange
It happened when I used RTW with
the patches but right now I got BI
& haven't tried yet because it seems
you haven't got BI version

Anarion> number of provinces is not finalized yet but I'm shooting for 70-80. It would be densed enough for enough battles but not too dense that it'd take only 1 turn to come out of your city and siege another one. Many of the towns will actually be "outposts" meaning their size will be limited and no wall permitted so it'd be closer to camps. You can't make units in these "outposts" so many of them will be buffer zones, an area that the enemy must conquer before going for the real city.

Depends on its moddability. CA has not made an anouncement about whether we can mod the models or animations. If we have to rely on another kind soul like Vercingetorix again, then I can say no, I will not be making a M2TW mod. The level of frustration with working with the animations and models without the real tool is something I don't want to go through again.

If all we can do is mod the models and not animations, I'll probably make a mod that doesn't require new animations, such as A Song of Ice and Fire mod.

Hi,

Interesting mod. I have the latest beta downloaded and am playing it. One small suggestion if I may, I think ye haves too many different types of Orc troop types, same for the Dunlanders. Neither the LotR movies nor Tolkien hinted at such a vast array of Orc etc. troop types. Too many troop types is as bad as not enough troop types. Also, I noticed Rohan Knights with javelin ability and only a 1 Charge Value, when Rohan already had javelin armed lesser cavalry that have more of a Charge value than the much heavier and well equipped Rohan Knights, and there are also way too many Rohan troop types IMHO. The number of troop types seems to be overdone as there are more troop types per faction than there were in the Imperial Roman and Byzantine militaries, and Alexander's homogenous forces.

Other than that, it seems t be a very interesting and well done mod.

I agree. There isn't a Rohirrim Cavalry unit for Rohan and there is too many unit types for Isengard, Mordor, Gondor, Rohan. However it is a amazing mod and brilliant ideas. Also i had to mod the mod to get Rohirrim Freelancers from Unknown to Rohan, lol and then to change the name and stats. Please do not be offended.

Hi, Yeah, there are so many Orc and Goblin types it is confusing, as are the Rohirrim types. I am trying Mordor now and overall this seems to be running smooth.

I hope you all continue to add and improve to this mod as I am a Tolkien fan of a few decades in duration. Also, I see there is the Tales of Arda mod and I hope the same for it as the 1st Age is great. A mini campaign for the 1st Age could be Turin Turambar's saga, and the Black Sword himself did have a region around Red Hill under his dominion populated with mannish refugees in camps and villages and they resisted Morgoth for some time as very briefly described in the Silmarillion and I think also in Children of Hurin and other books by Chris Tolkien.

PS: For the Goblins of the Misty Mountains, your Orc/Goblin Rabble(s), the Raiders are a good idea for a unit, its just all the other types that are mind boggling. I would simplify/reduce the number of types, same for the other factions as it is overkill and too much differentiation. Anyway, not being offensive, just suggesting.

PPS: After I save a game manually or reload a save actually, I get the black screen of no script, however, after the next end turn and auto save I get a normal screen, then after the nest end turn and save I get the black screen of no script, and so on. What is happenning??

PPPS: Dumb me. I didn't activate the script.:wall:
