CITADEL TOTAL WAR
CAMPAIGN MAP SCREENSHOTS

THE FORUM (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=87)

Welcome, Total War mod fans. For those of you who have heard of Citadel Total War, this will be a treat. For those who have not, take a look inside.

Please remember that as it does not have enough modders working on it at the moment, this mod is being dragged along the ground by the people who do make it. If you want to be one of them, and help this mod stand up, visit the "Help offers" thread in the forum and offer your services.

Now let's get down to some screenshots. First, I will take you on a tour of the new northern map extensions. Notice the new interface and faction symbols as you go.

The land of the Scots, with its capital Edinburgh.

Southern scandinavia, the boring Scandinavian forests are gone and now there are woods, mountains, lakes and more terrain.

The breathtaking mountains of Norway.

Finland in winter, with its seemingly endless forests and lakes.

Livonia, the Baltic, whatever you want to call it.

https://img359.imageshack.us/img359/6748/werus7sb.jpg (https://imageshack.us)
Russia: even more snowy lakes and forests.

More russia pics. Dense forest in the north, huge plains in the south.

And the end of our map extensions tour is the Ural Mountains, and more vast forests.

Now for a couple of shots of the campaign map in action:

Glorious England! You can also see Wales, Scotland and Ireland from here as well.

France in summer, as well as a bit of southern England.

And finally, a snow covered France to end the tour.

Keep watching this thread, as it will be updated regularly.

Agreed !!! ~ ~ ~
A question - it seems to me that there is less provinces than it should be (5 or 6 in whole of France and 4 or 5 in whole of England) , correct ?

Map looks really good! I'm looking forward to play this someday ~:).

I think that the map is not ready yet. Notice how there are no cities in Baltics and Finland for example.
EDIT:btw. is there province list somewhere?

The province/city list is not yet complete. These pics were more to give an idea of what it will look like, there should definately be more provinces in France and England. We are currently working on that.

sorry for going OT, but you guys should make a habbit of calling this mod "Cit" or something - not "CTW" - because I can see a lot of confusion coming with ChivalryTW. I myself try to refer to Chivalry as "Chiv" as much as possible, instead of "CTW".

Silver Rusher

Yeah, you are right. Having time frames so close together doesn't really help either.

Please remember that this mod was around quite a long time before the medieval mod was renamed though.

Lord Adherbal

I know that, but chiv is now much further in development stages then Citadel and probably much better known since we already released 2 betas. So using CTW would probably be more to your disadvantage then to ours, as people would probably think it's referring to Chivalry.

Uesugi Kenshin

That's a good idea. Though we were around first for practicalities sake we should probably call this Cit or something similar.

The map looks nice, but why are you hiding the minimap?

Uesugi Kenshin

I don't know, SR is not back yet, but I would guess it was a good place to incoporate the name of the mod, and maybe the rest of the campaign map is not 100% done? Although I think it is.

I'm back everyone!

The minimap is hidden simply because it gives out information that we do not want the public to know about just yet.

So, roughly when will SP campaign be available for CTW?

Great looking Mod btw.

We're not certain, probably quite a while.
Thanks.

You really have to sort out the geography of Scotland. This is something that I've noticed in several mods - it's just an extra lump of land added on top of England. Please get the coastline and mountains correct, and please, can't you add more than one city in the whole country? As a Scot, I'm glad that this is the first mod in which I can play as my country, but I'd like to see it accurately represented.

Any possibility of making the campaign units rennaissance looking?

Uesugi Kenshin
12-02-2005, 23:35
Yes they will, and some are already done, they will be posted in good time.

DochtorGajo
12-03-2005, 13:15
Maybe little off topic but are you planning to release whole mod at once or are there gonna be some betas?
If yes would be the most expecteble month or season of release?

Uesugi Kenshin
12-03-2005, 16:11
We will be releasing one demo before the full release, it is coming along nicely, but many members of the team are pretty busy with real life so that has hampered progress.

DochtorGajo
12-04-2005, 15:52
Yeah that I can absolutely see as I dont have too much obligations but still I dont have much free time left or dont have an opportunity how to spend it.

Im interested in late middle ages. Thats advantage of this mod that you start where Chivalry Total war is about to end.~D

Maybe too early to ask but anyway if demo is released would it possibly have timeframe about 1400-around1480 maybe 1500?

This MOD looks a lot better than the other medieval MOD (Chivalry TW) keep it up do you have a release date and i love the Campaign map,Will you have the Irish.

Uesugi Kenshin

Unfortunately we cannot fit the Irish, but we will have the Scots. We don't have a release date either, and unfortunately the campaign map has been very troublesome because the person who said they were going to do it has suddenly stopped posting and responding to pm's, though they are still on the Org.

Well, it's nice that SOMEBODY is making my nation of Scotland a faction. But a couple of points (oh no). The geography of the land on the map really needs serious improvement. Spend some time looking at some maps, it'll come out much better that way. For example, you've totally missed off the Western Isles, the Hebrides, the Mull of Kintyre etc. I understand there's a limit to what you can do, but it really could be a lot better. Secondly, perhaps you could add a second city in? Maybe Berwick on Tweed (one of the most important trading cities, if not the most important, in Britain), Stirling or Inverness? Perhaps even an Orkney or Hebrides province?

Uesugi Kenshin
12-16-2005, 02:13
Scotland will have at least two to three provinces.

This also isn't the final map, we are having trouble contacting our current mapper and are looking for a new one so we may lose all of the displayed work. But thank you for your interest and input, I hope you take the time to critique any new screens we put out.

Perhaps you could have Loch Ness shown - and have the odd monster attack. Kind of like volcano eruptions only more fun :2thumbsup:
