Both the Heavy and Lite Stirling mods have been expanded into Hard Versions,
although you lot probably won't find them that hard at all...

ALSO
You can now play as Surrey, Cressingham or DeThweng - seperate mods!
(all three based on the Hard 'n' Lite version)

I strongly recommend Downloading and Installing Patricks Scot's Faction,
For a more Scottish Setting!

The Pikemen and Housecarls Icons are included in the Stirling Downloads!

(Go to the Medieval Section, then select the Modding Guide - that takes you to the Mods section homepage)

I'm also going to add the ability to play as James the Steward, Stephen of Ireland, Sherrif Ruthvern and de Moray,
when complete the whole set will be uploaded to the Org,

has anyone played as Surrey yet?

are these too easy?
I can make them harder.

I don't get it all...
I have understood that most of the mods are ways to play as the various armies, but is Patrick also just another scottish army?

Patrick has created a new flag and shield set featuring the St. Andrews Cross!
very nice for atmosphere!

The Stirling mod has eight armies,
5 scots and 3 english,
all of the armies are different, except 2 of the scots who have the same composition, but start on opposite sides of the map behind enemy lines,
So you need to play differently for each 'character' / army. Different roles and tactics.

the Pikemen and Housecarls icons eliminate the 'hash' boxes you see at the bottom of the screen, sadly we mus wait for the full release before we can see these guys in all their glory, but i wanted the unit statistics in play.

Yeah... I understood what Patricks mod was when I downloaded it.
Actually the battle didn't work until I had installed the flags. Odd...

Well I won, 1500 killed 940 taken and 540 lost. Not bad I would say.

It's even more if you add 4 catapults on the hill, I killed around 4000.Lost 100 or so

Just played the Stirling hard mod as Wallace. Managed 3000 kills to 950 losses, I have also been playing Bosworth recently...now that battle is HARD (well for me at least). Must have played it about 20 times and only won about 3 http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif

Well Wraith, that goes to show different playing styles,

Stirling for me is hard (50/50 win/loss)
http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif
and Bosworth is fun! (never lost yet)
http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

you want harder Stirling Variants?
that i can do!

btw Wraith you did well, Wallace in hard and heavy has 1400 men, the english 5600!!

Hmmm interesting comments regarding Bosworth Barocca. I thought that batle was hard...but it must be me then. I have tried allsorts on that map, I even tried retreating all the way to the back of the map right from the start. That gave me the advantage of fighting from the top of an exteremely favourable gradient, but I still lost http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif. Not by a lot addmitedly kills, are usually about equal for both sides I even lost several times with more kills than enemy. I need to devise a strategy to stop my Billmen running home I think....I will prevail....eventually http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

I won teh first try on Bosworth...

You MUST use flanking attaks on the enemy units, as your units are not strong enough to kill them fast enough. And keep Richard close to the main fighting. Further, remember that te archers can make or break the battle. Concentrate on Billmen with your fire, they don't have much armour and are stronger than the Men-at-Arms, while the Chivalric Footknights have too heavy armour to be beaten this way.
