All right, now that I picked my chin back up from the floor and got it back to where it belongs, what resolution do you use to make the units like that?
Are that Kataphracts or Lancers in the first picture? They look like they wear these "typical" visor helmets you see on depictions of tournaments. But then, if they were Lancers, they´d wear plate mail, I believe.

They're (my) Klibanophoroi. One of the two types of Byzantine Cataphracts. The other type, Kataphraktoi, are armed with bows instead of lances. In the early era, they're probably the best heavy cavalry you can get, but they're fairly slow and damned expensive. Lancers will only come in the late era.

By the way, I´ve taken a look into your screenshot thread on SSC, seems like you got quite a couple of High and Late era units done as well already. How long will it be from the release of he early campaign till we can get those? I´m really looking forward to them.

a month or 2 for each era I guess. So we should reach version 1.0 (complete) at the end of the year.
Those are really really cool screens. Only thing that bother me is that those kataphraktois have (too?) small shields.

they're fighting with 2handed lances (we still need an animation for that), which is why they only have a small shield strapped to their forarm

This mod looks awesome. I which I had 256RAM..... So my system could hold a multiplayer battle with that graphics........ I need a RAM upgrade...

oh i forgot to ask, those varangians, i assume they will get a two handed animation for those axes? they are mighty big.

I always thought the pic of the varangian guards on the parchment (the ceremonial dress) in MTW was uber-cool. Will those guys be making an appearance?

In early drafts of MTW Varangians were goin to be divided into early and late/high eras like many other units. The info for 'early' varangians is included in the game but you have to mod it to play them.
The early guys kinda look like Vikings while the late varangians eventually became 'standard' varangians.
Anyway they are still frakkin cool! Put them in man, there wont be another unit like it!

Maybe they represent the Cretean Guard (sp?). Unless you give me evidence that "late" varangian guards look like that I won't be adding them (and no, MTW is NOT evidence ;))
