Due to a few bugs with TFT 1.7 and the subsequent patch we have made a brand installer.
This installer has some new buildings, brand new Traits, slight tweaking of the combat stats, and a refined set of victory conditions. Plus a few other things...

Please note that this version is savegame compatible with 1.7

Come and grab it here TFT 1.75 (http://www.orbmod.co.uk/TFT%201.75.rar)

So what's in this version? well many new units thanks to the RTR team, Atilla Reloaded, Ferres, Warsprite, Webbird & Riczu!

Vastly improved scripting & enforced gameplay.

Improved combat balancing.

Here is a breakdown of some of the new features in TFT 1.7 beta

1. Obviously the biggest change: You can now install TFT directly onto a vanilla version of RTW that has been patched to version 1.2. No additional downloads or mods are required.
2. New in-game victory conditions that are unique to each faction. Your faction leader will have "traits" that indicate how to achieve Triumphs and Ultimate Victory.
3. New skins - most notably for Romans, Gauls, Merc's and Parthia.
4. Darthmod 6.6 is included. Thanks go to Darth for this!
5. Sprites are included for all TFT specific textures.
6. Fixed "Egyptian" temples/revolts in Gaul and Italy.
7. Resolved issues surrounding implemenation of the Client Kingdoms Mod.
8. Reduced the morale provided by some traits.
9. Added in-game enforcement of some "House Rules" and tossed out the rest. However, we've also shortened the time in which you have to achieve victory. Expect a defeat message if you're not finished by the end of 27BC.
10. Fixed the family trees. They may not be historically correct, but at least you can see the major players for your faction.
11. Onager's have been removed from the game.
12. New Unit cards
13. Latinvoice mod (seperate install, but provided in the download)
14. Some other surprises that you'll just have to find along the way.

Please see the readme for more details.

To install:
Have a clean version of RTW 1.2
Unzip TFT 1.75.rar
Place the Install TFT 1.75.exe in the main RTW folder and run it.
Optional install of the Latinvoice mod.
-(To play Caesar) Place the Caesar.exe in the main RTW folder and run
it.
-(To play Crasuss) Place the Crasuss.exe in the main RTW folder and run
it.
-(To play Pompey) Place the Pompey.exe in the main RTW folder and run
it.

(It's just like installing 1.6 or 1.5)

To activate the 4TPY:
Click on a settlement you own
The advisor pops up.
Click ON her face.
Click on the show me how icon.
That's it.

Please change your preferences.txt: FIRST TIME PLAY: FALSE to TRUE after installing TFT 1.75

Please see the readme for more details. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/images/smilies/emoticons/grin.gif

We are building strictly on vanilla RTW/BI going forward. This frees us up from worrying about what each version of RTR will introduce and control our own destiny.

So always keep a copy of the vanilla data folder handy if you want to install both (or others, for that matter)...

There's a patch available over at the RTR and TWC sites...

The v1.71 patch is now available. Sorry for patching so soon after release, but the patch "should" be compatible with save games *unless* you have already achieved triumphs that were not triggered.

Orbs descr_model_battle.txt fix is included.

What's fixed:

Missing Greek texture fixed.
Sprites turned on the were inadvertently left off.
Script errors corrected.
Triumph Arch art files properly named.

Yeah, well, there's actually a v1.73 patch out already, and I'm working on v1.75 to address a few lingering issues.

Fortunately, all of the issues being addressed so far will allow the v1.75 patch to be save-game compatible. ~:)

Update 1:

In v1.7.5 we have included a "Command Bonus" for all AI Generals to ensure that the Triumvirs face some competent adversaries. The bonus is applied to all non-Roman factions by default, so if you are planning to take on the Gallic Rebellion, please follow the steps below to disable this for the Gauls:

1) Download the zip file below and extract the two files to the "Data" folder in your "Rome - Total War" directory
2) Run "Remove AI Command Bonus from Gauls.exe" before starting the Gallic Rebellion in the Crassus campaign
3) Run "Re-apply AI Command Bonus for Gauls.exe" before starting a new Triumvir campaign

http://forums.rometotalrealism.org//index.php?showtopic=6785

The changes are save-game friendly so you can run them anytime during a campaign.

Update 2:

Optional ancillary file without the Clodius-Milo stunt:

http://forums.rometotalrealism.org//index.php?showtopic=6785

Just extract to your RTW Data folder and re-start campaign from turn 2

We have been working on an entirely new feature for the FRRE mods for some time now, and since it has already been developed we thought it might be an idea to make it available for TFT 1.7.5.

The "Promotions" feature introduces "Ranks" for each general as well as specific career paths based on the social class of the family member. The purpose of this is to make the competency levels of you generals a very important factor to consider in your campaigns.

The "Decorations" feature is just something else to do while waiting for BI to come out, however, it is a promotion requirements for promotion "through the ranks" so it should add a little flavour to your game.

We are currently testing, making minor adjustments and balancing, so we expect to release it as an add-on to TFT 1.7.5 before the weekend.
(note: the add-on is save-game compatible so no need to start a new campaign)

The current scope of this feature is as follows:
- 16 new ranks and 4 Social Classes
- Tour-of-Duty "counter"
- 39 new trait levels each with a unique historic description
- 81 new triggers
- additional levels for military education
- various minor adjustments to traits & triggers to balance (32 as of today)

The below presentation is intended as a "Quick-start" guide, but it also provides a quick overview of the new features and includes diagrams for Rank Structures, promotion requirements and a few selected screenies.

Promotions & Decorations (ProDeco) v0.7 is now available as an add-on for TFT v1.7.5

1) Extract the Zip file below to your "Rome - Total War" folder and follow the instructions in the README file.
(note: the add-on is save-game compatible so no need to start a new campaign)

2) Please refer to the "Quick-Start" guide located here: http://forums.rometotalrealism.org/...indpost&p=96154 for guiding notes on how to use this new feature (the presentation was a preview and will not be updated going forward)

ProDeco_v07.zip:
http://www.orbmod.co.uk/ProDeco_v07.zip

Please note that while this add-on has been tested extensively, it has not passed through our rigid quality assurance process since we have re-directed our focus to the next FRRE release: "The First Man of Rome". This means that DaVinci and his "Band of Beta-Testing Brothers" are not to be held responsible for any issues in this release.

Having said that, then I have tested the cr*p out of it, but since there are so many different combinations to cover there might be odd scenarios which we haven't anticipated/tested. The files are very easy to update during a campaign, so I'm sure we'll be able to fix any such issues with a short turn-around - just save your games regulary so we can do a roll-back.

KPII

Got a question. First of all, I downloaded this mod, and it runs beautifully, no crashes or anything! I'm very impressed! ~ I'm playing the Caesarian campaign, and I'm wondering if I install the other two (Crassus and Pompey, I think), will the game CTD? I wonder this cos I may be curious to try out these factions ~:)

You can play different campaigns in parallel - just run the campaign installer before starting a new campaign or loading a save game.

This mod is awesome, really good work. Just one quick question, how come onergers have been removed. This isn't a complaint or anything, just interested.
