Hello all , I am currently making a project called RES GESTAE , is quite some time that I am working on this .... here is a brief description of my mod.....

1
I replaced a couple of factions with some more attractive and interesting ...

2
There will not be hoards of units , I am more for few but good than many but repetitive or similar , also this would just confuse players on my opinion...

3
Multiplayer oriented , this means that the multiplayer will be one of the main aspects and gameplay balance will be particularly taken care of ...

4
unit balancement in order to respect historicity and fun gameplay ..... this means if a faction was definetly useless and uncompetitive in history , will be helped a bit to survive on multiplayer ...

5
Historicity , all units will be remade in historical way , so will be completely new unit lists , not huge ones but good ones , of which u will be always able to find the sources used and documentated , mainly information taken from osprey books , the several books about uniforms and reconstructions of ancient hera , plus help from several experts on the ancient history...

6
New map , this will span from scandinavia to the deserts of central Africa and from Portugal till the Gange valleys....

7
The gameplay will be balanced by expert multiplayers , plus battles will be longer ....

8
some other scripting will be present , probably reuse of already winning and succesfull scripts already made by other modders with their permissions of course , but this is for now optional

The Name is inspired about the purpouse of rewriting history making your own RES GESTAE .....

all the units will be made by me to keep an uniformity in the style ....

the list of factions is ...

It's an axe

EDIT: how about posting questions, etc... in the main thread? (R E S G E S T A E) And leave the other threads to prometheus, so that he can post news here. It would become very confusing if everybody posts in the preview threads...

EDIT 2: only an idea

I think that it would more historical if there were no other Roman factions at the start of the game except for the SENATE.
After having conquered the Greek cities,Gaul, the Macedonian kingdom,Asia Minor ,Carthage and Spain, then the Roman generals could fight with each other and the player may be asked to choose the family that will back up.
Until then the Roman families can exist within Rome and strive for political strength and military power. They can give good generals to the SENATE.
The civil war would take place when the above regions have been conquered.
Until then, the player can control either the Senate or the Populi of Rome.

Yes I have recently tought of this in using the BI expansion so the player could start with one roman faction and by the 10a BC or when Romans will controll at least tree foreign provinces of east west and north then may be couls start the civil war..... I think that this could be really better ..... I am planning also to see if is possible a script that allows you to choose at the beginning one roman family from several available .....

Looks great !! keep it up... I was wondering though..It would be even better if you used Pinarius great horse models.. that would make them even greater!!!

I'm assuming the models for the elephants had to be custom-made, did you fellows do that also?

Are you working on the Indian Cavalry currently?

I must say, the vegetation -is- much better! The vanilla trees, even on "highest quality setting," just look like pixelated garbage.

Elephants are custom made , the Indian faction is completely done , they have one kind of cavalry only but larger in numbers , to make the army more balanced toward infantry and elephants....they have two kind of ratha tough ....
