Ok, after a short grueling journey i have arrived at the final stage of the minimod!!

This is for RTW 1.3

This mod makes Thrace a viable, balanced and above all fun in the campaign. It does this by adding in three new units that i feel Thrace required:
Thracian Noble Cavalry: This is actually using a skin i found in the models_units/textures directory, a proper Barbarian Cavalry skin with Thracian Faction colours, as such it has the same stats as Dacian Noble Cavalry.
Thracian Nobles are added to the tier 3 stables
Getic Horse Archers: The Getae were origionally Thracian, Thrace also owns Campus Getae and comes into contact with Scythia, as such i feel they would have also been influenced by them as well as Dacia/Macedon.
Getic Horse Archers are added to the tier 3 stables
Levy Pikemen: What can i say? exactly the same as the Macedonian counterparts, the only differance is the skin
Levy Pikemen are recruitable at the tier 2 barracks

New Unit Cards and Unit Info cards have been added for all new units
Most of the new units have sprites, apart from Getic Horse Archers, cos they didnt want to work for some reason...so im using Falxman sprites, which look....intresting ~:eek:

Thrace Starts off with Byzantium as its capital city

Thraces Campaign Map (shown at faction selection) has been updated to include their new territory

Bastarnae now have a lower defence, improved attack, armour piercing and horde formation. I gave them this formation simply due to the fact they are a bunch of raving nutters with blue hair, can you really expect them to keep a formation??

To install the mod simply double click install.exe dont bother with the files called INSTALL.txt and installfull.jpg

If you want to install by hand then you can simply copy the files in the data folder to their relevant directories, this mod also includes back up's of all files changed! in case you want to revert back afterwards

I hope you all enjoy playing this as much as i did making it ~D

I agree Thrace needs to be kicked up a notch. I think you should do it in other ways...First of all, get someone else to make unit descriptions.."Proven themselves battle after battle", they havent fought a battle until you get them, which makes no sense..And the elite of the elite seems pretty weird.

And the basternae SHOULDNT be in hoard formation, that makes them easier to spot before they do ambushes, and they cant be in a line (Which means they are pretty much fodder now).

And levy pikeman suck, get tooken down by arrows by the dozen. Get some better land (Basternae type) Troops in there.

Ok, its taken on board mate, and dont worry i have not taken any offence ~;).

Bastarnae should be in horde imho, just because they are not in square formation doesnt mean that they are now useless, it simply means you have to chnage whatever your previous tactics were, couple that with the fact they have increased attack and lowerd defense and what you have is a very good assault unit that should be kept behind blocks of Phalanx Pikemen and mixed with Falxmen.

Levy Pikemen are in the mod simply to give Thrace a phalanx unit with a fighting chance against Macedon at tier 2, not for Custom battles....even then i prefer to take Levy Pikemen as it means i can get more Bastarnae/Falxmen.

I have changed the description for Thracian Nobles, i admit they were below par and i apologise for failing to take that into account. The description is changed that of Barbarian Noble Cavalry because they are Barbarian Noble Cavalry...look at the skin :D

I am uploading a new version as i type this with changes to the description.

Much congratulations, just make the falxmen or w/e have better morale, they are hardpressed because they face "Civiliased" Troops from Rome-Macedone and run away pretty fast.

...Maybe thats why they are so good on alliances ~D

you should really try it anf give it a download mate :P of you use Bastarnae and Noble cavalry properly they are a vicous combo

1 Levy Pikemen
2 Bastarnae
3-4 Falxmen
3 Noble Cavalry
1 Armour General
2 Archers
2 Peltasts

Thats the army i normally use in the campaign, and its also good for custom battles....like i said Bastarnae and Noble Cavalry are a good combo, or hold units in place with Pikemen and flank with Falxes/Bastarnae and heavy cav.......and i assume we all know how to use Horse Archers.

I don't agree.
Allot of the units in the game are "experienced"
Just because you just recruited them doesn't mean they didn't ever fought before.
Just use you’re imagination. ^^

Nice mod. But since you removed peasants and introduced 0 turns recruitment time, I don't think I'll be using it. If you'd remove those, it'd be great!
