"Pinched" look to everything?

I've encountered something which I assume is a bug, since it looks weird, it doesn't occur in regular RTW and it doesn't show up on any of the EB screenshots.

Basically the issue is that everything, particularly unit models, has a "pinched" look - somewhat thinner and taller than they should be, both on the campaign map and the battle map, as:

I'm assuming this isn't happening to everyone else, but can anyone give me an idea what could be causing it? Have I installed something wrongly? Am I using bad graphics settings? It is it my graphics card (Radeon X800XL)? I stress that this does not occur in regular RTW.

Anyone have any ideas?

Very strange. I've never seen it and don't think any EB member has encountered or posted about that problem either.

There is a widescreen option in the video options it might be worth making sure that is unchecked, also while your there make sure the resolution is set to your preference

Well, I feel like an idiot. *cough*

Turns out that somewhere along the way the Widescreen option had indeed been enabled. Thanks, Stranγνthō. I probably didn't noticed it because in my experience enabling Widescreen options impacts everything on the screen (menus etc. would be visibly distorted) but here for some reason it only affected unit models.
