Ave!

I tray to Speed-up the EB time to make the AI turn (When you End turn your to your New Turn start)

It' s just a bit more speedy EB, (not a lot,... but a first step )

I cut some seconds (near 30') :sweatdrop:

To Use with jsgme mod (jsgme included)

Put the back-fill of folder into your Rome main folder (when is the RTW.exe)

execute the jsgme, add the turbo-EB.

The Speed-Up is not in the load time. Only in the dead time when you pass the turn.

cheers

This is an EB-specific mod, right? Don't mind if I move it to their forums?

Also, what changes did you make to speed it up?

Well it seems it could be usefull for be people who have slower computers. Good job! to bad I've got a quite fast computer so it doesn't matter much.
But I bet it's worth for the guys who don't.

I'm sure all it does is set the games priority to "high".

wich file would you be able to change that in?
I know you can with ctrl+alt+del or with the execute... but a file from rome wich changes priority?
Edit:
nope I checked it changes or adds a script wich lowers waiting times. just like he siad above.

Does this by any chance increase the probabilities of CTD's occuring? I don't know if it's true or not but I always felt it CTD's because the AI doesn't have enough time to "think" or when it's rushed. That's why when it's slowed down with fow off and watching the moves, it doesn't CTD.

-edit-
Oh and, how can you set the priority to high without ALT+CTRL+DEL?

Oh and, how can you set the priority to high without ALT+CTRL+DEL?

Make a copy of the Europa Barbarorum shortcut and go to the properties of this new shortcut. Change the target to the following:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe /C "start /HIGH RomeTW.exe %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9" -nm -show_err

The icon the shortcut should change to c:\_ shortcut. Thats it.

The_Mark had conducted some tests with the wait command before, and had this to say:

About those waits, they are there to remove lag. Most of them (the 0.5 ones) are in the piece of script that is the player part of the govt script, which is essentially a large endless loop. Even though the script engine can handle small endless loops without any lag, a 4000-line long loop is a bit much; the game would be unplayable without pauses in the middle, that give the processor some time to wheeze. There are 3 waits in one govt script chunk, so the loop is processed in three parts, with a 0.5 sec pause between the parts. When I tried just one pause, the script gave lag-spikes with steady intervals, and too many small waits actually hurt the performance even more and few short waits didn't have quite enough effect on it. So I struck a medium. The wait commands itself use processing capacity, so cutting them will lessen the strain from those, but them may also negate the effects of the pauses on lower-end systems. Semi-lower and medium grade systems could very well benefit from it. :juggle2:

So, getting some more reports from people about what kind of speed reduction they're seeing would be nice, comparing with and without the changes here. Please report what processor you have, as well. Cutting the waits down may improve speed for a significant number of players, or maybe just some of us. If it's cutting 15-30 seconds between turns for a majority of players, it sounds like a good change to apply! :2thumbsup:

E.T.,

Your little mod works great for me. I've got:

Pentium 4, 1.6ghz
nVidea video card, 128mb
393 Mb RAM (Yes, that's 393 Mb!), although I'm going to 2gb next month

The average turn takes about 50 seconds, since I downloaded your mod. They used to take about 1.5 minutes.

Thanks!

Using SpeedUpX2, I noticed a slight difference, I only get to read a single page in my book instead of several between each turn. I have a 2ghz processor and 768 ram. Unfortunately, as I posted in the bug report section, I get a CTD whenever I look at my victory conditions. Did you ever look at them when you were testing? Could others who are using this mod test this?Report (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?p=1177485)

For 0.8 you need to add -mod:EB to the end, just after -show_err.
