No I don't have it.

EDIT: Actually, I do, sort of:

For now we cannot give a fixed date. Let us say that with some luck it might be possible to play this game this year. Maybe!

Taken from the PC Gameplay magazine interview.

Games usually show up later than planned instead of sooner...

Sometimes alot later in fact your better off just ignoring them then one day you sill get a pleasant surprise sort of like Empire at War next month :D

It could definitely be June... of 2007.

Id say September this year - following history (or wishful thinking), but it could be much later.

A year isn't much, you have to wait a couple of years for most games to arrive after they've been announced :furious3:

They might make november 2006, if they have been working on the game since (before ?) Rome's release, otherwise, it'll probably be another year. Most companies like christmas releases, although it has been shown that spring or summer releases can generate just as much money...

I believe last Q of 2006 is a reasonable date, since CA is basically re-writing Rome to make Medieval 2. It would take much more time to develop the whole thing anew. IMDHO, this is more of a mod than a new game, but I am endlessly grateful for this one. At certain point after release of Rome, I have tried to instigate an .Org conducted Rome-to-Medieval conversion, but it didn’t work out. Now CA comes to fulfill my wishes.

For whats its worth, my guess is 2nd week of December to hit the christmas rush.

I would expect a new series of time commander, maybe in september/ October to show off the Medieval battle interface.

Oh well, I guess I'll have to keep my mind occupied for the next 9 to 11 months then.

Must...forget...about M2:TW!

I think they could definitley make their release date of roughly a year from now. It's important to remember that R:TW was CA's first 3d engine, and that M2 is probably running on a highly modified version of the Rome engine. Not having to develop an engine from ground up will shave months off of the development cycle.

Hey, I think we're all missing the most obvious answer here.

"Winter 2006". I expect it no later than February. :2thumbsup:

Don't get excited people; it'll come in time but it'll never seem soon enough...

I want it late from whatever releases they promise if that would give us the magnificent Total War Dream Game we deserve.

Or at least Half-Life level (okay, a little less) moddability.

Well, Play.com have it as 27th October 2006!

Yeah I know, you can't trust the stockists to have the real release date this far in advance, but even so, that's still quite a nice thought! Only 9 months to wait... Ho hum...

*sound of fingers drumming on desk*

Are we nearly there yet?

I'll accept a July 2007 date as long as it is complete. I don't want a half-finished game. Take your time, CA, and get it right.

Of course, in the time frame between Dec 2006 and July 2007, I'll be available for the expanded community beta-test (which needs to happen). :2thumbsup:

I'm guessing last week october/ first week november.

But i'm happy to wait longer - the more testing the better. 1) Hopefully CA have learned with Rome to make sure that the testing is done extensively before 2) It's being built on the Rome engine. they have a chance to perfect it, before moving on to the next project

Q4, game release speaking, generally refers to September, November or December.

I don't mind a little bit late. Still have time to enjoy those great mods our there.

Have they been developing this in secret? You usually have to wait ages from when the game is announced until a preview and theres a preview in March.

Yup... Winter 2006 is indeed now...

But given that games tend to be delayed a lot I expect it to come out for christmas.

So the Australian team is working alone, what is the British team doing then? Why aren't they helping?

I suspect some are working on the "revolutionary" next but one addition to the TW series. Others may be doing other stuff (e.g. Total Warrior stuff?).

Exactly. I wouldn't mind if they take another year afther they think they've finished the game to thoroughly playtest and debug it. And finetune the AI, and finetune the AI, and finetune the AI, and...

Predicted for 27th(?) October 2006. It's available for pre-ord on play.com

I hope it is MUCH later rather than sooner. The more time spent on research and fine tuning will provide (hopefully) a better game in the long run
