I dunno ... is Beirut sufficiently geeky? There are a few things he ought to do before he lords it over a bunch of propeller-heads ...

Take the Geek IQ test. (http://www.selftestsoftware.com/generic.asp?page_id=p00509)

Take the Star Trek IQ test. (http://www.nerdtests.com/ft_startrek.php)

Take the Lord of the Rings test. (http://www.allthetests.com/quiz17/quizpu.php?testid=1133646389&katname=Lord%20of%20the%20Rings)

And finally ...

Complete and report on the exhaustive 500-point Nerd Purity Test. (http://www.armory.com/tests/nerd500.html)

Only when he has completed these trials will we accept him as one of our own. (Also, if he has never had a crush on a character in a videogame or comic book, he's out of the club.)

[edit]

Just to make things crystal clear, Beirut had better look like this:

My Star Trek credentials can withstand the highest scrutiny.

I've watched Star Trek, in it's different iterations and with repeats, thousands and thousands of times.

Geek IQ: 20% correct (I knew one)
Star Trek IQ: 316
LotR: 10/15 pretty easy, I saw the movies

Nerd purity: 72/500 god that took a long time...

Geek IQ: 33% ("Keep studying you are still an AVERAGE GEEK!")
Star Trek IQ: 597 ("Random luck gets you this far. You are an Ensign, a lowly Ensign.")
LotR IQ: 12 out of 15 ("You are a Fanaticlike me! You know Lord of the Rings inside and out!")
Nerd Purity Test: 196 out of 500 ("your nerd experience level is: Closet nerd")

I guess I didn't do so well. But I have an excuse -- I'm still groggy from re-coding my family web site. Surely that's good for some bonus points ...

The "correct" answer to question 8 is plain wrong. :rtwno:
Question 12 is ambiguous and the correct answer is no more correct than the incorrect ones. :dizzy2:
There's nothing as "Kaza Dum" it's Khazad-dûm! :viking:

First Geek test - 33% i'm an average geek.

Star Trek Test - 73% Lieutenant. This means i know a little something about Star Trek.

LotR test - 10/15 but i don't count LotR as geeky, it's more nerdish in my eyes.

Purity test - 275 of 500 i'm 45% pure nerd, 55% average nerd. Apparently my weirdness factor is 29% and i need serious help. Not bloody likely....

47% Geek - (high) average. Mostly from lucky guesses, I suspect.

Pretty Good! You know allot about the LOTR and may be a fanatic.

You have correctly answered 11 of 15 questions.
I agree with Mouza, a lot of the wording was questionable at best. :furious3:

That means Papewaio is old school Trek. In the original series, whenever they beamed down to a planet, it was usually a group permutation of Kirk, Spock, Bones, Scotty, Sulu, etc., plus Ensign X, who's uniform was red. He always got killed when they met whatever threat the planet had.

I took the nerd test, might as well have been written in French. Didn't have a clue. I got 12/15 on LOTR though. I've only seen the films, and read the wiki article on it, that's how I knew about Elessar and such.

Ensign X is in all treks. Typically an away group consists of two important characters, and a disposable Ensign, who gets killed in the first two minutes of being on the planet.

Each series goes through about 100 Ensign X's.

Geek IQ: master geek, with 67% (10 out of 15).

StarTrek IQ: I am a puny Space Cadet (You don't know the difference between an Andorian and a Vulcan) :) - I admit it, I probably don't :P, score 447 (so I guess that means 44.7%).

LOTR: got 11 questions right...weird. oh well.

Are you serious when you say you don't know the difference between an Andorian and Vulcan? You sicken me. Anyone who is a trekkie can immediately tell you the difference, and probably mention that they were co-founders of the UFP (United Federation of Planets).

Not big on Trek. I do however watch Stargate SG1 and Atlantis, my extent of watching sci fi. Mainly because they like to take the mick out of themseleves and other movies.

EG. O'Neill: "Jack: There's this big fat bald guy that wears a short sleeve shirt[In clear reference to General Hammond]...what's his name? Homer?"[/tangent].

I didn't like StarTrek at first, but if you watch it for a while, you get into it. Trust me, i didn't think this time last year i would ever be a trekkie.

I'm even tempted to learn Klingon...

You better stay calm. Especially when talking about Star Trek. :viking: "Now... where's that Pon Phar?"

My best guess is that, counting reruns obviously, I've probably seen around five thousand episodes.

I got 226 out of 500 in the purity test. Not bad, but disappointed in lack of references to dinosaurs, orcs, dungeon masters, power metal, LARP, anime, giant robots and debates over which superhero could win in a fight.

Edit to add my Star Trek score: 713 - Lieutenant.

Isn't it funny how there's no question asking whether or not Voyager was any good?

44.2% Nerd (55.8% nerd pure), 221 times 'yes'.

I would have gotten more if I had had access to some of the American programs and channels they are referring too.

Why thank you. ~:smoking:

There were several years where I easily watched five hundred episodes. One with breakfast and one with dinner every day. I had a pile of VCR tapes six feet high crammed with episodes from TOS, TNG, DS9, and Voyager. My buddy bought the entire TOS & TNG series on VHS from one of those tape-a-month mail order places. He also had all the movies and hundreds and hundreds of episodes on tape. I constantly borrowed his stuff as well.

He and I play a game where one person says a line and the other has to guess which episode it comes from. Good fun.

Proud to be Trekkies. :balloon2:
