I've recently been charged at work with designing a project in PHP however I have been using Dreamweaver which I personally think is ass(I may as well be using notepad). Does anybody know of any really good freeware php editors? I was interested in something that operates kinda like Sun's Netbeans or Microsoft's Visual Studio. Mac/Win doesnt matter. Any help would be appreciated.

Here's one site's list of PHP editors. (http://www.php-editors.com/review/) I have no personal experience, nor any good secondhand stories, so the link is all I got.

Dream weaver Isnt Bad at all.
Dream weaver MX is prety good.

Although to tell you the truth. I like to use note pad.
So i spose i like it due to it allowing me to edit the Html/php as i would in note pad.
or i can easily make layers and drop them where i like.

But honestly.
Dreamweaver mx is prety cick ass and it is more than willing to make you PHP pages, So long as you use it properly.

Its a good idea to get to grips with dream weaver.
It has masses of functionality.
and the only time its the same as note pad.
Is when you tell it to be.
