Akbar seems to be a 7 star leader

Babar is another good leader. (5-6 star)

I am studying up again for Mughals :book: but don't expect me to do as much as I did with Circassians since my knowledge with them is really really rusty :shame: .

beauchamp, I believe will do a great job anyway :bow: and I will be happy to help fill the gaps.


And I was studying general history books and atlas. So generally I have some knowledge in almost every part of the world if there is a specific faction that is hard to find information about, tell me I might be able to help. (hopefuly :sweatdrop: )

In order to really include the Mughals, one would have to start from their Ancestors in Afghanistan which is wheir they originated, Babur actually was an afghan lord who took his cavalry archers into India and deafeated the might of the united Raj's in the ghanges. Afterwards, the Mughals were close allies with the Safavids but I belive they eventually fell before the Brits came in. Im going to order books from Osprey on the Mughals. They do, in fact have a really cool and diverse military. But, never a match for my beloved Safavids :2thumbsup:.

Also, Inal: I am reareading "7 pillars of Wisdom", Feisal, the Shiek was half circassian and had a cavalry guard of Circassians called the ageyl.

Babur is not within the timeframe and he is much greater leader than his grandsond Akbar. Babur was founder of Mugal empire add he founded it with his 14K strong briliant army.

Babur is not Afgan lord he came to Afghanistan in 1506 from Fergana voley which is his motherland he was expeled from there by invasion of Uzbeks that defeated him multiple times. Bone of Babur army are Turkic and Mongols what he brough from
Mawerakhr and men recruited from Temurids in Afghanistan.
Babur is Termurid from his father side and Chagatai Ghengisid from side of his mother his grandpa is Yunus-khan the khan of Chagatai horde. When babur was kid his father had died falled from the wall of Aksa fortress when feeding pegeons that he loved, and since that moment Babur had to fight for his survival because most of his beks took his younger brother side whom they kidnaped and used as popet to acquire the power. He was fighting and commanding his small army since he was 14-15. His inital capital was Andijan in Fergana voley, from there he was leading his men on Samarqand which he took and lost 2 times before he was thrown away into Kandagar and there again he could not stop Uzbeks. He was strning to protect Herat but his two cousings ruling there were defeated and executed by Uzbeks. So he finally excaped as far from them as he could, founded new capital in Kabul where he ruled for something like 11 years or more, before he invaded Hundustan defeating huge army of Daily sultanat, then he had to fight much stronger Radgeput army which he also crushed skillfully.

I have all info up to the moment of Babur death, I have his own diary the Babur-Name and diary of his Daughter with historician comments in places where corrections need to be provided or more explanation given. But for later periods we need Osprey, they will provide all units picks we need.

Mughal capital is only 1 year old and maybe its not that great? :inquisitive:


here is what I read a while ago:

"Akbar built a walled capital called Fatehpur Sikri (Fatehpur means Fortress of Victory) near Agra, starting in 1571. Palaces for each of Akbar's senior queens, a huge artificial lake, and sumptuous water-filled courtyards were built there. The city, however, proved short-lived, perhaps because the water supply was insufficient or of poor quality, or, as some historians believe, Akbar had to attend to the northwest areas of his empire and simply moved his capital for political reasons. Whatever the reason, in 1585 the capital was relocated to Lahore and in 1599 to Agra."

Agra seems very important...

Babur describes Agra as complex of fortresses not one city. It seems there were group of fortresses located close to each other rather than one city. But it was big, Babur also says that it's not well planned, messy and no good water supply. He started building roads, channels, gardens as soon as he arrived there. So till Akbar time Agra should be quite improved.

I am reviving this topic. More research needs to be done to define a reasonable unit roster for the empire and local rebels like Rajpurs (sp?).

That s Rajputs, cegorach-there are some of their heritage still alive today here in Pakistan.
