I stumbled across this site (http://www.unboxing.com/), and I'm strangely smitten. It's dedicated to the act of unboxing new electronics. The geek equivalent, if you will, of undressing a lover. It's both sad, hilarious and freeing.

Am I overracting, or is this really something strange and new?

I think they are rather over the top to publish, but there is a deep pleasure in unboxing an Apple product (I note that the stories on the page at present are all Macs).
