This is for 1.6 - note that it changes the mechanism by which you choose a faction. If you want to play as an emergent faction then you must start the game as the slave faction and click on specific cities to bring up the correct advisor. Full details in the readme.

What does it do?
This mod allows you to play as all of the factions within BI as they appear or emerge within the vanilla game.

What version is this for?
It is for the vanilla Barbarian Invasion.

How big is it?
Approx. 3.9 meg

How does it work?
For all factions which are present at the start of the game just select them as usual from the campaign menu.

The emergent factions are marked as 'Not Playable at Start' on the Faction Selection Screen. To play as one of these factions, you must select one of the other factions that begins the game (as specified in the emergent faction's campaign description):

At the beginning of the game, the advisor will appear and ask if you wish to swap control to the emergent faction. If so, click on the 'Show Me How' button and the game will switch to auto-pilot until the faction emerges. If not, press the dismiss button. For example:

Same problem here. I want to play the Celts. Thats four bad links so far on various forums. Still looking.

This link with its screenshots looked so promising. Oh well.

Soon to give up on the mod.

Now i have more time i can explain it better ( i think the link i posted earlier

now you just have to go c:/program files/activison/rome total war/bi/data/world/maps/campain/barbarian_invasion

and paste it there, it should ask if you want to replace the file, if it does press yes then load up bi and all fractions sould be unlocked

i do not think you can play as romano britan and the rebel fraction's

Does that mean that the first link doesnt work at all?
i couldnt even get to the faction selection screen when i used the first link and tried it, ill try the second link.

The second link didnt work either, i got the same result. I tried to edit the Burgundii a little bit by changing the names of 2 of their sons and also by giving the two existing guys a few more traits but that shouldnt be the issue becuase there was no error that had to do with any faction editing.

Do you have another solution?

Why cant i edit the existing faction and then play as them?
