Hello, I´ve recently encountered a problem with my DVD drive (Samsung DVD-ROM SD-616T), all of a sudden it can´t read certain DVDs. Whenever I insert one it starts running but then nothing happens, i.e. it won´t auto-start Power-DVD and when I check it says to insert a disc. This doesn´t happen with every DVD, though. Does anyone have an idea? Might updating the drivers work (mine are from 2001, the latest available seem to be of 2004)? Or should I contemplate getting a new drive and if so, can you recommend one preferably not too expensive?

Try with the new flash for your Samsung if is avaible for downloading. You have probably the old version of flash and now your dvd drive can't recognize the new types of dvd's.

I have the same problem with my NEC recorder but the cause is the different.

Done that, it worked (or at least it seems so). Thanks a lot!
