Hello .org members from UK.

Can somebody give me link or links to the greatest (with good reputation - I mean like newegg.com in USA) on-line reatailers of PC hardware in UK. I know for overclockers.co.uk but need more to compare prices and services.:help:

I have option to buy in UK via friend who live in London (and has UK passport and citizenship). Actually, he wiil buy and send me via UPS to me in Serbia.

And how VAT function? In Serbia is 18%.

A related question - are you buying your hardware from the UK on account of it being cheaper here than in Serbia?

If so, what are prices for hardware in Serbia compared to UK prices?

I know that. To be precise - If my friend buy hardware on-line he will have to pay VAT. Have I right or not?
But when he sent that to me via UPS we'll he have refunded VAT from state?

Yes.

I don't know. I don't think you get a refund, I will look into it.

If I can't avoid VAT then the prices are almost the same as in Serbia. Plus shipping and VAT in Serbia (18%) and final price is higher for at least 20-30%.:furious3:

Ebuyer.com is about the best of the UK online hardware providers. It's usually the cheapest, the service is good, and it has loads of useful (and some useless) customer reviews.

As far as I can tell. Your friend would not get a refund because he lives in the UK.

In order to get a VAT refund, you would have to come to the UK buy the products yourself, fill in a form and then get the refund when you leave the country. You would also need to transport products with you on the plane.

And there si no British company which send hardware to Serbia. Only Amazon.co.uk send to Serbia but only books, CDs and DVD's.

Hi DukeofSerbia,

I live in Switzerland (very expensive place to live) and I have also looked into this.

It is not possible to either countries VAT (UK or your own in Serbia), of you don't pay it in one then you will have to pay it in another. If you do then...humm, that would be a little cheating:2thumbsup:

That is why no logistics company will ship PC's.

Sorry DukeofSerbia. Governments closed this gap a little while ago

Actually, I find way to import from UK. My friend's father will go in London by this year. As Serbia is not EU member, he can request for refunding VAT (with some formalities). And...

But I also have option to order from USA (I have relatives here) as hardware prices are lowest in the world in USA.

Nice...

Low prices are low prices, so purchasing domestically in the US is great.

You have to love the relatives that will do you favours.

I got my pc from http://pcoption.co.uk

TBH I gambled with them, found them through google. But it paid off! Their support is great, and prices low :2thumbsup:
