View Full Version : Differences between XP Home and Pro
I've been wondering this for a while, what are the major differences? Is pro really worth the 100+ dollars?

XP Pro is better - a lot of better than Home.

I only ever used Pro, so can't help ya on that.
I've been unable to tell the difference personally & I've used both.
Basically for day to day use there is no difference.

Well, Home can only be used on one PC whereas Pro can be used on 2, effectively doubling its value.

I think pro baisically just has more options for networking.
Home can only be used on one PC whereas Pro can be used on 2 Huh  Have you read your licence agreement?
I currently have XP home running just fine on a Core 2 Duo with distinctly differing loads on the 2 cores so Home with SP2 definitely handles dual core just fine if thats what you mean?
The difference is purely networking services. Home for example only uses simple file sharing.
