I want to ask about your opinion about MI 1.03 stats? How do u think about the overall gameplay and balance? I remember calvary speed was really high

The cavalry speeds were not increased from v1.02 to v1.03. However, some of the cav in both v1.02 and v1.03 are increased over v1.01 which had the same speeds as original STW v1.12. In Samurai Wars, we've returned to original STW v1.12 speeds except charge speed is 10% higher than run speed, and the NC has the same speed as HC and CA. Hatamoto is silghtly faster than HC because they have the best horses.

I would not use v1.03 for SP campaign. That stat was designed for MP. What I would suggest is v1.01 or checkout this thread (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=61917) if you want to get back closer to original STW v1.12 gameplay.

I would not use v1.03 for SP campaign. That stat was designed for MP.

Very true. But in my experience, it works very well in SP too. But it's just what you like.

yep you only change the contents of the 2 files. 1.03 is not an official patch it is only a stat developed by the stw community

remeber that 1.03 are only stats so even after putting them the game's version will be 1.02

I never tested 1.03, so I'm not sure. But it would be odd if that were true... are you 100% sure you had the same honour-weapon-armour levels?

well i made the test on ironing bord, both units had no weapon and aromor upgrades and both were of honour two. the heavy cavalry is always winning.

i will check the stats again and make sure they are 1.03 maybe i messed them up by mistake

Keep in mind that anything else but "normal" difficulty gives a bonus to either AI or player.

Well if you have the gold edition you don't need the 1.02 patch, the gold edition comes already updated. all you have to do is change the troopstats and projectile files

Normal shouldn't give any bonus, that's my point.
In MTW there's definitely no bonus on "normal", I assumed that's true for STW as well, but I'm not sure.
YariCav can beat HCav in Samurai Warlords because of the anti-cav bonus for YariCav. HCav was designed to be the strongest unit in STW, iirc.
I guess Yuuki can clarify this.

Charge bonuses are very high in v1.03 for cav especially for the YC. This means the initial charge makes a big difference and could be why you're seeing HC beat YC.

k ploblem m8... I had STW:WE (Warlords Edition), and when you said Gold Edition should have 1.02 (I forgot), I uninstalled WE and stuck Gold Edition on it, and it was 1.00 m8... I'm going to stick WE on again... I got that link from what you gave me,but dunno what I should download..

well gold edition 1.0 is equivelent to WE/MI 1.02 so if u have the gold edition u don't need to patch.

ok, I know I am a pain, but I been getting bad ploblem here, trying to fix the MP issue with STW, several times, giving up..


Nobu, I could not install WE again,dunno why, but I was able to install GE,Gold Edtion. Well, I go to Mutilplayer, and only see LAN Gams section. What was the file I have to edit so I can play on the fakserver??

Two players need to have the same stats to play each other. If they don't their versions are incompatible and one will fail to join the game of the other.

You can download the statswapper (http://www.mizus.com/files/files/STW_WE/stats/StatSwapper2.0.exe) tool that makes swapping between 1.02 and 1.03 easy.

R'as - OK- I got the statswapper. But I don´t know how it works. When I click on the Statswapper.exe icon I see a MS DOS prompt flash for a second. When I go in and have a look at the files troop and projectiles files in the shogunfolder nothing have changed. I don't say that it is hard to change the files by hand. I just wonder how I can make it work as it is meant to. Should the whole thing be put in the shogun root folder?

10xSwap.bat needs to be in the Main folder, as does the folder "stats".

You just unzip the file into main folder.
The dos window then offers you the possibility to change the stats.

That is what I had in mind. But now I uninstalled the first one and reinstalled as you said straight into the Shogun main folder. But the problem is still there. The dos window just flash once I click the 10xSwap.exe. I doesn´t complain about missing files or bad directory or anything. It just doesn´t want to co-operate.

I would like to say it works but it doesn´t. First of all I had a hardtime when the system32 folder was gone. But I found out that I could make it appear by a commandline in dos. So no i have that file in the system32 folder. So when I start the 10xStat application it now stays up.
BUT! My dos now complains about the AUTOEXEC.NT file in my system32 directory. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS. Choose 'close' to terminate the application. I click 'close'. And nothing happends. And it makes that well known windows "something is really wrong" sound.

Ok I now found the solution to fix a the bad autoexec.nt. There is a folder called 'repair' in the main Windows folder. I copied the autoexec.nt from that folder and pasted it into the 'system32' folder. So now this 10xStats.exe application runs smoothly!

I remember that some of those files are needed.
The problem is that XP doesn't support DOS anymore.
We've had that in the past and I hope this is all you need.
A reboot may also work wonders.

Ok I now found the solution to fix a the bad autoexec.nt. There is a folder called 'repair' in the main Windows folder. I copied the autoexec.nt from that folder and pasted it into the 'system32' folder. So now this 10xStats.exe application runs smoothly!

I may never get it to Work

Warlords Edition will Not Install

and I tried doing that (installnig 1.02 and adding the stats) and there is no "Online" Option for GE

I'll try WE again, and if that doesn't work, I'll give up and just try the STW Mod for MTW then :-( :-(
