Hi All,

I have recently been told about this mod by Kagemusha. I am a senior moderator/admin at TWC and am responsible for the Multiplayer RPG found there. Currently we are running a Viking Invasion campaign here:http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=140 . If there is enough interest I would like to also run one based in Japan using this mod to settle the battles. Typically a turn takes one week, with the battles being resolved on the weekends. If you have any interest in this please let me know via PM at TWC or here. I need players who will make time (usually only 15-30 minutes) every weekend so turns run quickly.

(If you don't like TWC you could always go hidden and only post in the RPG area-no one would know that you went over to the dark side:P)

TWC is a fine site. I was going to advertise this mod over there after the beta_8 update and verification that it is stable in SP and MP. We need a minimum of 6 players to verify MP stability. We spent all of Sept tracking down a desync problem in beta_7 and it cost us all of our MP players except a core 5 players which isn't enough to test for the problem. We still have more work to do on that problem, but I think we are down to testing the final thing it could be (new animations). We do have a stable beta 5 version of this mod which is what we're currently using to play online, but the newer version has a lot of improvements over beta_5.

There was considerable interest in a multiplayer campaign using this mod last year, but the release of the RTW v1.2 patch sank it as most players left for RTW MP at that point. Now with the release of M2TW, I expect similar difficulty attracting players to an MTW based mod. However, after a while I think players may come back looking for a more clearly defined, clearly visible and responsive tactical gameplay in MP than what M2TW provides.

If you want to see the Samurai Wars battlefield gameplay you can watch these two replays (http://www.mizus.com/hosted/Yuuki/STWbeta5_11b_replays.zip) from Sunday. The second replay is the more closely fought of the two 3v3 battles. The map is from the vol 1 -3 mappack (http://www.mizus.com/files/files/MTW/Maps/MP_MapPackVol1-3.exe) so you need that as well as the STWmod beta_5 (http://www.mizus.com/files/files/MTW/Stats/Samurai%20Wars%20updated.exe).

I have played in a couple of multiplayer campaigns using STW a few years ago. It required a lot of work by the gamemaster to keep track of everything. I'll read up on WBK's rules.

Actually it doesnt take an overwhelming amount of time. What does get frustrating is the constant nagging I have to do to get players to get thier acts together (well it not that bad but I like to complain). If you ever have any questions about my rules please contact me via MSN!(PM me either here or TWC and I will send you my MSN contact info)

I have decided to move my RPG to the .Org. I will run one here if I find enough interest in it. I can use either M2TW or orifinal MTW:VI. If you guys wish, I would love to run one using this mod as Feudal Japan is one of my favourite time periods!
