Thsi is a multi-player one, choose who you are, than research your faction. Whos your ruler, soldiers and allies, things like that. At the start there is no story but you get options. War eports, diplomatic reports and Home reports ( Whats happening in your country) plus you get to command battles. Choose your troops and position them, i will tell you the terrain. Any more questions before it is started? :Salute:
It starts 1796. Remeber these are just guidelines, you controll your country, decide what to do, whatever you decide to do PM me about it. All Negotiations are to be Private Messaged to the player for whatever country. And the Negotiations are to go through me first. Everything you do PM it to me so i can do Chapters. Every thing you do, like a Royal Visit, are to be announced here. Hire Mercanaries by PM, I have to know about everything! The chapter will start when every power is occupied.

Minor Factions
Minor Factions go on/off every now and then, so you won't always get a choice with them, beware. Major factions are much more fun to play. Minor Factions become Major when they do something really great, great enough to be an event.

spain, britain and portugal had armies that fought in the penninsular war and portugal was the country from where britain landed her invasions and france was thrown back, portugal also had large holdings in africa and south america... italy should probably be a 'minor' player since i'm not to sure but i think they were beaten quickly by napoleon in just a few years after the start date and they never had too much of a great army/political power (well apart from the pope)

The Coalitions:
Great Britain/United Kingdom
Prussia
Austria
Sweden
Russia
Portugal
Spain

Napoleon's Forces:
France
Denmark-Norway
Poland
Saxony

however spain did start on napoleon's side and attacked portugal i think and denmark was nuetral until britain attacked the fleet stationed in copenhagen... however i'm just using this knowledge of the top of my head and with wikipedia...

hope this helps get this started

Thank you very much, I wont add denmark-Norway,Poland and Saxony because there will be to many factions. I might add Denmark later. I'm keeping Portugal off the list until later, because that historically happened, as GiantMonkeyMan said, but they will pop up every now and then as will other countries, they are not under controll by anyone, unless attacked, maybe! I am adding Sweden because they had stuff to do with Russia in 1809 with some War, Great Northern War I think, Other than that nothing else!

There were no Landwehr until 1813, but there was Landwehr cavalry I believe after that date. The Prussian army of 1796 was pretty similar to the army of the 7 year's war and Frederick the Great with the emphasis on the muskeeteers standing in line exchanging volleys. When the French came along with their colummns which did not flinch under the musketry, the linear tactics of the Prussian and Austrian armies failed - hence the string of defeats to Napoleon - slightly simplified I know, but basically true. Most continental armies went over to the column tactics, but this meant a change of army organisation, training etc. The exception was the English who realised that if you stood on a reverse slope and had good fire discipline etc and excellent skirmishers then your fire shock could halt then break a column.
Yes Franc - Napoleonic is another period where I wargammed extensively in years gone by!!!:2thumbsup:
