This was just a ten minute personal mod I made whilst writing this tutorial (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=72076). I actually found it quite enjoyable so I thought it worth sharing.

What the mod does
This stops all brigands and pirates spawning. That means that the only rebel forces that should appear on the map are settlement garrisons and any other set up in descr_strat.

I'm a long way into my Milan campaign that I play in my breaks and so far have never had a field battle with a rebel banner nor an attack from a pirate ship - so a lot more of my battles are actually against other factions!

Installation instructions
1) Make a copy of your campaign_script.txt file in your Medieval 2 Total War/data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign folder.
2) Paste all the text files from the downloaded mod folder into your Medieval 2 Total War/data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign folder, overwriting the original campaign_script.txt file when prompted.
3) Launch the game as normal.

NB You may have to remove the write-protection on the campaign_script.txt. Do this by right-clicking on it, clicking Properties and then deselecting the Read-only attribute.

Uninstallation instructions
1) Delete/rename the campaign_script.txt, descr_regions.txt and map.rwm file (if there is one) in the imperial_campaign folder only. Do not go into the base folder!
2) Rename your Copy of campaign_script.txt file to just campaign_script.txt.
