cant unlock faction etc via descr-strat anymore, why?

just bought the game today, went to unlock all factions like i always do and it wont let me save it, says its a read only or something


i am not at all mod savvy...but i have been able to do this and other simple things for all of the titles....what gives? i wanna play muslims and not have to play with scrubby england etc first :help:

Right click on the file, go to properties, uncheck the read-only attribute and modify away. (make a backup copy first)
