Hi everyone,

Could someone direct me to a tutorial, or explain themselves, how I should go about getting a quick test campaign map in game? Information such as: which files I need to edit, which files are necessary, how to determine province ownership etc. would be really useful.

At the moment I'm not wanting to add any new factions or units, I simply want to make sure the map is in some kind of working order before investing vast amounts of effort in it.

The map contains a lot of water (which I understand is no longer an issue in terms of a minimum water:land ratio) but, in checking various .txt files I've seen references to co-ordinates for starting armies which will place them in the sea in my map. Will I need to edit these co-ordinates? What do they refer to - number of pixels in from the edges?

Thanks for any advice!

I wont go into detail now, but try Spurius' Labyrinth map base as a starting point. Use this tutorial as a guide line (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=50447).

Thanks Serenius :) . I've been looking at Myrddral's tutorial for the stuff I've done already, but this looks like it will be useful.

I hope that there aren't too many differences between MII and Rome when it comes to the campaign map though...

Well, one notable difference is that there is no corrected_regions file that is created if your map is slightly wrong. However, there is a workaround to this: https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=72810
