This is a monthly updated catalog of every Interactive History currently running and those which have been alive (and since died) since 2007. I'll try and keep this up-to-date - but if you have any complaints, suggestions or comments about the IH's feel free to post. This thread has been given a shakeup since its four years old and showing it. :sweatdrop:

Recently Begun Interactive Histories
Currently Active Games
Franconicus's - The Invisible Enemy

The Blue and the Grey IH Thread (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?132787-The-Blue-and-the-Grey-an-American-Civil-War-IH)

Note
We're running a it low on games lately so a appeal from me - have a go! Go ahead and host a game, see how it works and goes. Even if you think your a rubbish writer it doesn't matter. Yes we're that desperate! Also try and get the word out there, as I believe these games have universal appeal to any game player, history lover or writer in general!

Rhyfelwyr's - Rise of the Capetians
It is the year of our Lord 987 AD. Only fragments of the Carolingian dynasty of West Francia remain. On the 3rd of July Hugh Capet was proclaimed as "rex Francorum" at Noyon in Picardy. Unlike previous Carolingian monarchs, Hugh was elected by the nobles of France, justified at the coronation by the words of Adalberon: "Crown the Duke. He is most illustrious by his exploits, his nobility, his forces. The throne is not acquired by hereditary right; no one should be raised to it unless distinguished not only for nobility of birth, but for the goodness of his soul."

Add mine to the list, I just haven't got the time to write a chapter now, it's still active, but I need about 2 hours to write a proper chapter, time I didn't have for the last month since I had my exams, they are over now, so next week I should be able to write another chapter again.

Great idea, warluster! Although it will be some work to keep the list updated. Some interactive sleep for quite a while.

Although I have my own active IA, and am strongly involvoed in Legio's, I have already an idea for a new one. But there is still a long way of preparation and planning :beam:

Due to the nature of some Interactives, I think story-driven "Kraxis-classical" ones should have at least 2, or 3 months limit before being put into inactive mode and dropped from the list -- King Henry's magnificent English one takes a long time between each chapter, for example. They are subject entirely to the author's whim and write-ups between each chapter will take time.

Multiplayer ones, due to their nature, should be around 1 month or even 2 weeks limit before being dropped into inactive, except may be the full blown interactives like 17th Century where outsiders don't know about the behind-the-scene games being played between players and could've taken longer.

I would clean it out a bit, for example remove the Abandoned option until there is something to put there and combine the Paused and Done options.

I also think it would be a good idea to create links to each game and the stickied thread of what to do when you are thinking of starting an interactive.

Derfasciti

I agree with Derasciti.

I also thought of something. Do you think you could divide the Interactives up into they type of interactives they are?

EDIT: Also, a summary of what has happened so far would be great, but would probably have to be provided by the person doing the Interactive.

I think I'll start a new Tarrak (you call him Kraxis) styled IH after this summer (somewhere around the start of the academic year). Problem was that my last one had little people who played it, only Ducky really, that really puts you of writing. So I'll start when this forum is really active.
Plus that I still have to think of an area to have it play in.

Nah as I said, he's inactive.

The list has been updated again.

With having to delete all the inactive IH's I was quite concerned; the ones running now are simply superb, and faithful. With their major succes, surely someone else is, what's the word... inspired to start up a new one. The CHapter House is getting a tad empty (Didn't post Tran's IH as inactive due to the hope it'll restart, but that means theres only TWO active IH's!)

THe list has been updated again.

I ahve also added a new section at the bottom called the Archive. Right now it only has a list of finished IH's but I am eager for suggestions on how to improve it.

Also, would it worth asking the Gahzette to advertise the CHapter House? More player's I am sure would be welcome, and I don't think many new members see the CH around.

Hey
I'm planning to make an IH here... Atm I'm doin' some research, and thinkin' about the stuff.
Soo, I din't come up with the name yet, but the main action is going to be set up in the near East, 11-14 cent. / in other words - Crusades.
If anyone will be interested, I'll speed up working with the basics of this IH.

What sort of style are you going to make it as? a sort of 'Diplomacy' type of game, or a singular story? I could recommend a few.

Good luck!

Pranas

Dono how to describe yet, but here's some breaf information:
If playing for the Christians - I think in the beginning player will be given a hero (some Noble lord), from a Chr. country (any). They are given with an army, chose how to get to Holy land (in other words who to support, Venice, Genoa, Pisa or Bysantium E. - I think putting some different bonuses to each side, and in the future, you'd need to earn respect of these city-states and empire). Thus Launches the first Crusade, so now they deside, conquer, trade, build. Bdw, when Noble Lords enter the Near Asia, they may chose to enter the Crusade Order, or just to support it, and many other things... and this are only if playing for Chr., so I think the game can hold unlimited number of players (within reason of course xD), I'm still thinking about the Muslims, and how the battles will go.

These one-vs-one games are more suited to the 'Duel of the Sea' sort of style games, where its the readers voting on decisions, much like your current game Franc.

Just a small idea, though I believe it could work well - having a game set in some Cold War battlefield, say Korea or Afghanistan, and then have four to six players representing the United States, USSR, UK and perhaps the Eastern Bloc. The game operates as a normal game in this respect with decisions presented each chapter from where this chapter would lay out everything which happened over a set of months.

Where it diverges from a normal sort of game is that we have another four or five players all playing as the United Nations. So as the major superpowers all make their decisions and backstab and kill, they are supervised or watched closely by the UN who pass edicts and acts (Such as embargoes, isolation or even posting a peacekeeping force) but these acts may only be voted on by the six players who signed up as the UN?

Simply - a normal game with a overhead group of players representing UN/world opinion and acting as a governing body? It could be an exciting game where the superpowers plot against each other and manipulate the smaller powers, while the UN players are constantly working to prevent war from breaking out and keeping the war 'Cold'.

ELITEofWARMANGINGERYBREADMEN88

Sounds good Warluster. I always like the ideas of those types of IH's. Maybe it be better then a warfare type of IH. And even if someone does a another War IH of sorts, maybe it be a smaller one. Like a Austro-Prussian War (1866) with one as Austria and one as Prussia or a Crimean war with only England,France,Ottoman Empire,Sardina and Russia playable and no one else and have set objectives. Russia to defend their terroties for so many turns and do this and this and for the Allies to take Crimea for example, I don't know.
