I had the same problem when using R:TW's inbuilt screenshot function. I evaded it by using a freeware screenshot program (FRAPS or Howie's freeware), but I am told turning of anti-aliasing also works.

That's because you have your Anti Aliasing turned on. You will need a third party print screen program, such as the ones Ludens Mentioned.
Or if you don't want to do that turn off your AA.

Word. thanks guys. Can I turn off AA in the middle of a campaign or do have to reset in options and start over? I'm taking one at a time at the moment and copying into Paint for my AAR...A little tedious. But I really don't want to start my campaign over for obvious reasons.

Changing any graphic setting won't affect your game. Doesn't with me.

That totally worked. Thanks Guys. Out of curiousity, How does turning off the anti-aliasing effect the graphics?

Visual (Graphic?) Settings under Options in the main menu, then click advanced options.

No....You misunderstood. I meant what is the difference when it is turned off? I turned it off and the TGA's show up fine now. ( Although when the battles are really big they 'smear' and afterwords my frame rate slows down to a pathetic degree)

It smoothes the edges so they appear... smoother-- it's hard to explain. But you should find the preformance is better with it off-- as it's less work for the graphics card

Oops, sorry. That's what happens when I read too fast.

Side note on antialiasing... To me, it seems to take the most performance for the littlest improvement.

I agree. I'm going to booknote this thread in case it comes up again. This is really helpful technical info. Thanks again.
