I have a question, how do you mod the campaign map? adding new regions and so.

Perhaps you should have a look around for some more tutorials and such before posting such a question. The process of mapping is quite long-winded, which you weren't to know (so there was nothing wrong with posting the question), but people might get touchy about such questions in future ;) .

Here are some good tutorials:
Adding Regions (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=73660) - This is fairly straight-forward and should only require paint and a text editing program.

Adding Factions (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?p=1385401#post1385401) - A bit more complicated, but should only require text editing I think.

Myrddraal's Map Editing Tutorial (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=50437)- This one really deserves the capitalisation. It is rather long and complex, but it will give you a grounding in all the file parameters - note, this is for Rome, not MII and certain limitations no longer apply, though there may be some new ones :D . Having all the file RGB values on hand is incredibly useful once you really get into mapping.

Some tools you'll need:
Paint (too basic really, but you can do region stuff with this).
Photoshop (expensive, but the best thing you can have for the job).
Gimp (I believe it's free, and seems to be the tool of choice for most mappers, has many Photoshop-esque features)

Recommended files:
A mapping base such as: Big Map Labyrinth (http://www.totalwarmods.com/BigMap%20Download%20Page.html) by Spurius (look for DIY Packs some way down the page) or Basic Europe Map (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=1150) by serenius4tsd. Both of these maps have only one region to start with, which makes them ideal for putting your own landforms in, once you've learned the basics that is.

You may also wish to extract all of MII's data files (which will really sap your HD space), I believe the extractor came with the 1.1 patch, but I'm not certain of that.

Well, I hope that gets you started. In future it really is better to do a search, but I was happy to help you out, seeing as you are new :) .

Yours,
Ilsamir Lord

Basic Europe Map (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=1150) by Selenius4tsd (I think he's Tsar Stefan Iv at the TWC).

Wrong. Selenius4tsd = Serenius4tsd, not Tsar Stefan IV.

Sorry, I just assumed and I've now corrected the post. Please accept my apologies  Tsar Stefan does go under the abbreviation TSDIV though (similar, it must be said, to 4tsd), that was where the mistake arose.
