Medieval Fidelity

What is Medieval Fidelity?

Medieval Fidelity is a modification for Medieval 2: Total War aiming to recreate important and interesting periods of European history through small and detailed campaigns.

What main differences will there be from Medieval 2: Total War?

Medieval Fidelity will focus on the importance of loyalty. If you do not have the loyalty of your generals, expect men to desert, generals to rebels, and utter chaos ruining the land through civil war.

There will also be a difference in the approach you will take to gaining new lands. No longer will it be a "lightning" war to seize neutral or enemy provinces. Instead, you must use diplomacy to justify your wars, and also to gain new lands through marriage.

Finally, the detail in the campaigns themselves. With maps concentrating on individual parts of Europe and a shorter time-span, the campaign map will be richly detailed. The maps will be as historically accurate and detailed as possible with plenty of regions and many more factions.

How many campaigns do you intend to make?

At this stage, the plan is to make four. The first one is on the period of history in France, England, Germany, and Northern Italy during the years 918 - 1066 AD. The next one will be around the same period, but about what is not going to be revealed yet.

i like how you're focusing so much on loyalty and diplomacy for war. I always felt it seemed a bit too easy to snag lands, especially since in real life each of those "rebel" provinces had ties to nearby powers which protected them for some time.
good luck
