the original idea was to have 2 campaign maps: one on s. america focusing on the incas and the other in north and central anerica focusing on the aztecs.

No, horses wont be included for american factions,. they dissapeared of america thousands of years ago.

You mean like in Stone age times or something?

Filibustería

yes. men hunted them instead of riding them. there are horses in cavemen paintings all over America

Murfios

Ohhh, I know about those. I think they where smaller though.

Filibustería

maybe thets why they were hunted.

The reason horses are bigger today is because they have been bred that way, I don't think anybody knew how to ride horses in the stone age so that is probably why they were eaten.

I really like your map so far, but I have a couple of questions"

Are you going to use all provinces possible up to the limit in the engine?

Will you be enlarging the map at all or will it be on the same scale as the original vanilla map? i.e. in the Crusades mod, I think, they enlarged the map to make it take longer to travel around.

In your FAQ you said you were going to include other factions, obviously. Are you filling the entire roster or leaving some out for space?

Also, just how much variety was there between regions unit wise? I know this is a stupid question but I really don't know a lot about Pre-colonial South America and don't know how different in terms of war the numerous nations were.

There was a vast amount of different troops. Each culture fought differently. Perhaps Filibusteria could enlight you. He knows more than the rest of us.

There are going to be mesoamerican factions in the final release, in another campaign map, but those seen in the map are the only SOUTH americans.

The inca fought with squadrons of disciplined soldiers, but most of them were auxilliaries. The diaguita and aymara fought in a sort of "castles" called pukaras, that were located in cliffs and rocks. they threw javelins, stones and arrows to their enemies.

Mapuche fought in the forests of the south, disorderly and furiously, using raid attacks between the mapuche villages, who fought continously against each other. But In times of great danger, alll the mapuches united and fought campal battles with thousands of warriors. That way they defeated two incan expeditions and resisted the spaniards during 200 years and than the republics of Chile and Argentina for other 100 years.

I dont know how the others fought.

If there are going to be to then how exactly are you going to put that on the menu, like

Prouloge

South America Campaign

Mesoamerica Campaign

Historical Battles

Custom Battles

Just wondering.
Oh, and when is it going to come out? I'm dying!

There's been a lot of changes to the direction of the mod since we were posting often here.

Basically, the mod will be released in two stages. First the Mezo Campaign (we decided to do this first since most of the completed units and buildings at the time were Aztec and Maya). This will be called Flower Wars. It will focus only on Mezo American from about modern Zacatecas down to Hondorus.

This will include 51 regions and 5 factions; Aztec Triple Alliance, Maya, Mixtec_Zapotec, Tlaxcala, and Tepanec.

We are working like madmen trying to complete everything, but even with a scaled down mod there is a lot of work to do.

Once we complete this and having some out for you guys to enjoy, we will begin work on the larger Inca mod. However, depending on the scale of the job, we may release a 2nd mini-mod which will focus only on the Inca's rise to power.

The Maps, however, are complete. All that need doing for them is a bunch of detail and clean up work and climate modification. The changes we make for the Climates in Flower Wars should translate easily over to Inca.

Let us know if this all makes sense.
